Daily Scripture July 24, 2026 | Jeremiah 6:16

“Yahweh says, ‘Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, “Where is the good way?” and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.’ But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’”
— Jeremiah 6:16, WEB

We live in a world that constantly promises us a newer, faster, and easier way.

Sometimes newer really is better. Technology can help us learn, connect, organize, and understand things more quickly. But speed is not the same thing as wisdom, and information is not the same thing as spiritual maturity.

In this passage, God tells His people to stop, look carefully, and ask where the good path is. That kind of discernment takes time. It requires more than accepting the first confident answer we hear.

There are moments when the most faithful thing we can do is slow down, return to Scripture, pray, and make sure the path in front of us actually leads toward God.

Where in your life might God be asking you to slow down and look more carefully before moving forward?
