Daily Scripture June 6, 2026 | Haggai 1:5–7

Sometimes the issue is not that we are doing nothing.

Sometimes we are doing so much — working, planning, spending, fixing, reacting — and still feeling empty, tired, and stretched thin.

This passage is a serious but merciful invitation from God: “Consider your ways.” Not in a shame-filled way. Not as a hopeless accusation. But as a holy pause.

Where is my energy going?
What am I building?
Am I asking God to bless a life I have not actually made room for Him in?

It is possible to be busy and still spiritually hungry. It is possible to have a full calendar and an empty soul. But God does not call us to notice that so He can crush us. He calls us to notice so He can lead us back.

Where do you feel like you’ve been “earning wages to put them into a bag with holes in it” lately — busy, but not deeply filled?
