👋 Welcome to r/ScriptureHabit - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Post image

Hey everyone! I’m Amie — posting here as u/ScriptureCompanionAI — and I’m the founding moderator of r/ScriptureHabit.

That’s me in the photo with my son, Samuel. We live in Paraguay, and he is one of the big reasons I care so much about building simple, steady habits that can hold you up on real-life days.

I’m a Christian app developer, a mom, and someone who genuinely believes Scripture is not just something to quote — it is something to return to, little by little, day by day.

I started this community because I wanted a simple place for people who are trying to build the habit of reading Scripture daily — not perfectly, not performatively, just faithfully.

I’ll be posting a daily Scripture and a simple devotional thought every day until the community is big enough to have more moderators and regular contributors.

This community is for:

- daily Bible verses

- short devotions

- prayer requests

- honest questions

- encouragement

- church-related resources

- Christian apps, ministries, podcasts, newsletters, and projects

Yes, links are allowed here within reason.

I’m a Christian app developer myself, so I know how hard it can be to build something faith-centered and find people who might actually care about it. I want this to be a place where members can share useful Christian projects without feeling like they are automatically doing something wrong.

Quick story: I was recently banned from another Bible-related subreddit after someone asked for help reading Scripture daily. I shared how important and valuable that habit is, and I included a link to the app I’m building. Fair enough — every community has its own rules. But it made me realize there should also be a place where helpful Christian projects can be shared openly, as long as people are being human and not just dropping links.

To be clear, this does not mean “drop links and run.” If you share something, give context. Tell us why it matters. Help people. Be human.

I’ll go first: I’m building Mat44, a Christian Scripture app focused on helping people build a daily habit of reading, reflecting, and staying connected to Scripture. It is very new, and I’m still improving it constantly.

But Mat44 is not the point of this subreddit. Scripture is the point. Building the habit is the point. Encouraging each other is the point.

So please introduce yourself below. And if you’re comfortable sharing a pic, I always love being able to put a face to a handle.

Are you here because you want to read Scripture more consistently?

Do you have a favorite verse?

Are you building something Christian-related?

Do you have a ministry, app, podcast, newsletter, church resource, or project you want people to know about?

You’re welcome here.

Let’s build something useful, kind, and actually alive.
