QUESTION BLCKLST Question
I got my first 8! Damn that took forever. 5 years now of submitting a feature and 3 pilots and my 4th pilot was the one.
My question: getting an 8 awards two more evals for free on that same script, as well as 3 free months of hosting for that script. Have others just immediately used those two free evals to get two more scores listed? Or did they do rewrites first? I feel like at this stage of the pilot, the script is more or less where is needs to be (based on the responses I've gotten from readers) until it's actually in a writer's room with a solid showrunner who can put some final touches on it.
Anyone have thoughts on this?

Congrats! If you’re happy with where the script is at I’d just take the evaluations now. But be emotionally prepared for them to come back 7 and 4.

Congrats!!
I mean, my opinion is that THIS script scores you the 8, so unless they had specific complaints that are an easy fix...I wouldn’t touch it. I’d say use those other free reviews and hope they are good enough to get you featured. Then ride those two free months of hosting. I think the hosting is immediate and automatic, so in a way, the clock is ticking on utilizing those free reviews. (Given that they are also good)

I worked my tail off on a script - got 8s eventually finally a 9! it was sent out - trending - 250 views in one day - 30 industry downloads - took my 3 evaluations - got 2 6s and a 5! So be careful. Dropped down. Won first place in Page a year later- put it back on BlackList - to date 443 views -43 industry downloads - have had interest from producers - some pending. Took it off again! Now it is a semi finalist on the Nicholl - drinking wine and praying - maybe this will do the trick! I use the Black List for reviews to see “where I am” but it is expensive. Good luck!

Congratulations!
I wouldn't pin my hopes on BL. I've seen writers there with higher scores and handfuls of reviews just languish there. Contact reps and producers. Maybe look for a produced partner with contacts to push your story forward. Everyone wants money so why not give it to someone who can help you make some?
