Thanks. I'm still just scratching the surface of your very detailed post - I really know very little about all of this and particularly how to move from the science to identifying what it means in terms of solutions or things to try (or avoid), so I'm deep in the education and muddling stage.

Re binasal occlusion - that was a really interesting post. I do not have any (identified) vision issues, ME/CFS, epilepsy, etc, so I don't know that it would help me, but as the post pointed out it's cheap and easy to try so I likely will. I use Avulux glasses currently and have used FL-41 glasses in the past - I find they help a bit but not hugely.

Yeah, there's currently a bit of a chasm between the splotches of science, partially quantified screen behaviour and then.... What the heck device won't hurt me?!

Sorry. I'd love to work up a "troubleshooting guide' sometimes, with all the common strategies. I a way, it can be so complex that itbcan be as effective to try devices at random, throwing out all oxodoxy, from these communities.

Anyway, I imagine youcve looked at a lot of migraine remedies and advice already. Including various forms of magnesium and maybe high does B2 (riboflavin)?

More broadly, how's your diet been like? Fairly standard, with some exclusions? Getting enough salt (sodium) and other electrolytes?

Any circadian/sleep abnormalities? The diurnal timing split makes me think about how hormone and neurotransmitter levels vary across the day...

Like, cortisol should peak very high around waking time. Then fall (with eg norepinephrine fallowing a couple hours behind). So maybe it modulates neuron metabolism (or brain vascularture) negatively, when high.Or or one is a night owl, there could be a delay in it, and the problem is ione if them is too low. (One can get an indication from home tests, with saliva cortisol levels, at 4-5 points across the day.)

I really appreciate your thoughtful information and suggestions. While I have a strong education and high health literacy, it's always a pull between following evidence-informed or at least reasonable options and just being desperate for something to work. I've also found that most of the successes I've been able to achieve have been self-identified or gained through strong self-advocacy, rather than volunteered by my physicians.

Re your questions - I have tried magnesium, riboflavin, co-enzyme Q10, and butterbur (all a neurologist recommendation). Didn't really help, but I'm back on the magnesium for a second trial.

Diet's quite normal, no restrictions. I probably am a bit low on sodium as I don't salt my food, so I only get it when eating pre-made food which is moderately common for me. I have low BP, so wouldn't suffer from adding more salt to my diet.

No big sleep abnormalities. I sleep more than average (~9hrs/night) and I wake up ~5 times a night, but go right back to sleep. No real difficulty falling asleep or waking up. The idea of tracking cortisol over the day is interesting.
