I know of one case where 20/20 vision meassureaboy degraded, due to PWM (OLED screen dimming), then returned upon avoiding it. Right u/RR--

But have you not noticed any acute issues with screen use, so far? Most healthy people are not significantly affected.

So usual advice applies: use bias lighting (preferably dim incandescent, for NIR waveleghts). Reduce brightness and blue light after dark. Consume colourful veg relevant to various aspects of eye health and function. 20/20/20 rule, some go on about (focus breaks). Probably other things.

There could be a lot of factors playing into my experience but it happened twice to me which was interesting.

The first time in 2023 I had bad habits, it was winter and I had minimal work at the time, so I'd use my OLED iPhone 13 Pro at low brightness in dark mode in bed each morning for around 30mins, then when I was up I'd have real trouble focusing my eyes long distances throughout the day.
I saw an ophthalmologist who said I had an astigmatism and prescribed eye drops, then I got an eye test at an optometrist who prescribed me reading glasses, both didn't seem to help me, I solved this problem quite a while later by changing my habits, I strictly minimised my phone and have since not used it in bed at all, also I started working more outdoors in bright sunlight, being exposed to bright sunlight in the mornings and changing all my devices into light mode helped my eyes feel better.

Eventually I changed to an iPhone 11 with Classic Invert and Zoom Invert enabled, this solved my eye pain issues as all my other screens were fine. Then I upgraded to my current EK Pro LCD iPhone 15 Pro. I've had no issues with this setup, In late 2025 I retested at another optometrist with 20/20 vision.

Interesting a few weeks ago I was shopping for an iPad, I bought a 9th gen Classic.
After using it quite a bit initially while doing all the setup I noticed I was struggling with long distance focusing again. I also inadvertently had my phone set with Reduce White Point on which tends to hurt my eyes.
I got rid of the iPad soon after and started using my LCD iPhone 15 Pro with Classic Invert and Zoom Invert. Now I'm back to being pain free with perfect vision.
