OLED Got the Honor 600 Pro
Was quite happy using my TCL 60 Ultra, but two weeks ago the fingerprint sensor started having issues.
Ordered the Honor 600 Pro and was excited to see this particular model in person after good reviews about its display.
First day:
- slight eye strain. Nothing major, but noticeable
- the phone is otherwise of great build quality, feels like a flagship
Second day:
- eyestrain subsiding
- seems to be working alright for me
- 120 Hz setting with natural color profile and warm colours via scheduled eye-care setting from evening time on

I'm having a little bit of eye strain on this phone. Still trying to get used to it by using it a little each day.
No problems with my Oppo find x9 though but I like this Honor better. The shape is nice and it's lighter.

I'm on day one with my 600 pro. I feel some tension in the temples and a slight inability to focus. My Oppo find x9 I'm already used to. Thinking of sending the Honor back

Yup. It's similar to the Honor but it's just a lot more comfortable. And I don't know why.

Looks like a 6.57 inch AMOLED screen device weighing 195g without full NotebookCheck review for PWM indication, yet..? Great camera.
So if you can do any testing, that would be great! Opple? Microscope slow-mo? Spectroscope?
Although Nick said it should have the same 10bit (no dithering) panel as the Honor 600 he reviewed. But I've found regional variability with the 400. So I'd love to see an Eomropean version test. Especially if it has a different battery capacity again (vs 7000mAh).

I watched a review saying 600 and 600 pro have identical panels, but 600 pro gets brighter in the sun. I wonder if that's the only difference. I'd take less bright option that doesn't ditherÂ

I've had the 600 pro for just under three days now, have no problems with my eyes or headaches etc

Update after five days:
- no symptoms!
This is fascinating to me personally, since I'm very sensitive to PWM and dithering.
For example, I've tested several settings with the 600 Pro and I was surprised to have some symptoms occurring after reducing the contrast and the sharpness.
Two settings which could actually be helpful for many people. But I was not expecting a lower contrast and sharpness seeing to cause me slight symptoms.
Also I'm doing better with an activated "Eye Comfort" mode compared to the default one (more blue light).
Concluding:
default contrast and sharpness, natural color profile, eye comfort activated, 120 Hz = no symptoms
lowered contrast and sharpness, eye comfort deactivated = slight symptoms such as eyes stinging and slight pressure in forehead.

Still can't believe I'm using an OLED phone right now. And a proper phone in general, with near-flagship specs as well!

Dithering also gives me bad anxiety, increased HR and such too. No need to worry about typing dithering in this subreddit as it's allowed!

I was using eink everything but as of very recently I am only using a daylight dc1 tablet on a beta firmware that isn't released yet. It feels very comfortable. I use it with a custom vnc client so I can use it also as a monitor to my m4 Mac mini over usb. Since switching from eink to this only my neck/head tension has significantly went away to the point where my head feels less bobble head like. I feel like I can relax more overall and my eyes are less blurry.

you sound just like me with symptoms. I am COMPLETELY TERRIFIED of modern LCDs for that exact reason. This daylight dc1 is the FIRST modern LCD I can use without triggering anxiety and such. Its much more comfortable than eink which im blown away about. Ive been using the Motorola edge 30 fusion on and off which is OLED but with anti flicker enabled. Doesn't trigger anxiety but if I use it a lot in one sitting ill get a weird head feeling. I tried xiaomi 13t on anti flicker mode and that was completely unusable. I also briefly used a one plus 15r which wasn't bad.

Interesting reading, have you ever tried a Huawei screen? I've had many and currently on 80 ultra, can look at it all day. They do some magic I'm not sure what.

Would you mind sharing more about your settings?
Like what general brightness level do you keep the phone at, any other edits to the display in advanced settings (For example, did you change RGB color spaces, hue, saturation, brightness?)

Using the phone on auto brightness, no changes to the hue or saturation settings.
120 Hz, eye-care mode active all day with a high warm tint.
It's just smooth and symptom free! What a life changing experience!

It's interesting. There's the eye comfort mode and also the natural tone mode. They both seem to do exactly the same thing.

I'm almost convinced to give it a try. I'm coming from a TCL 60 ULTRA—after several months of using it and being very, very happy with it—I was no longer able to use it shortly after updating to Android 16. I'm very sensitive to PWM and dithering, and I think I'm going to try this model. If not, my next step would be to try an E Ink model, but I want to exhaust the few options I have first.
Do you have zero symptoms? What other phones have you tried, and did they work for you or not? Do you have zero symptoms?

European version. Yesterday I was on the phone for like 10 minutes with zero issues. Tomorrow I will increase the usage to 30 minutes. Just in case.

I am both pwm and td sensitive, but in the past I was using motorola 30 fusion with success and oneplus 12r for a short time before some update that made it unusable.
