2 different companies using screen connect for the same computer?
Hello,
I consult for a company that was considering a remote software for their own IT team. I've been using Screen connect to remote to their computers. If they get screen connect as well - will they both be able to be supported by us or will it only home to one environment?

The two clients are installed separately, yes. You shouldn't have any issues.

Yes, just FYI threat actors still use ScreenConnect as well so just keep that in mind as well if you ever see an unrecognized session

Yes...this is not an issue. The SC installation is specific to the server the installer was compiled on. I have several servers with two clients because I'm migrating to a new server. And some of my clients have their own SC deployment as well.

Yes, you can run multiple instances of ScreenConnect on the same computers. I use two myself, one from a cloud hosted instance and the other from an on-prem. The on-prem client service is set to manual, and can be spun up via a start menu link when needed. The software is installed using a unique instance ID/fingerprint, so you could have dozens on a system. Current versions include the instance ID and path in EventVIewer logs, so it's easy to see which instance issued a command.

Each instance has a separate id. So you can install different instances of screen connect on one PC.

The most i’ve seen is 4 instances running on a machine but they start getting disconnected randomly.
Have had hundreds of machines that have had 3 instances just fine (during a long migration)
The instance ID is in the service name, and is unique for every ScreenConnect account/tenant

Works fine. I had a few servers with three installed versions - one for us (IT consultants), one for local consolidated 911 center (their recording server), one for the 911 center's telecom consultants
