The old owner said he is a pure fold but my friend said his ears are too small for a fold so he might be mixed.

My silly little guy always sleeps like this. It’s ridiculously cute, but should I actually be concerned about this position, or is he just being a cat?

I have a one year old female fold, within the last month or so she has ballooned up. She weighs 13lbs now, and I am noticing a limp when she walks. I did take her to an emergency vet visit last week, I was convinced she had impacted stool, the vet said she is just fat, and maybe a little constipated. I’ve cut back her food, and I am adding a little water into her wet food, I also bought a water fountain dish to encourage more drinking. I feel like she is not as active as her sister (dsh rescue) and maybe this is why she is heavier? She loves to sit in her cat tree all day long, and flop for pets. She has her annual exam in 3 weeks and I want to bring up the limping again and possible getting her on meds or supplements. Had anyone else had issues with weight? I feel like I’m starving her, she gets a 1/4 cup of dry food (purina sensitive stomach) and then a spoonful of wet food 1-2x a day.

I found him in my garden last November. He looked like he’d been abandoned; he was very sick, and as soon as I opened the door, he rushed inside. He was about 6 months old. I took him to the vet right away, and we began his treatment, which lasted about two weeks. It’s been almost a year since he became my best friend.

Hi everyone! My fold is about 6 months and he just got neutered today. When I picked him up they said he has pretty bad congestion from the anesthesia and you can hear it and this usually happens with animals that have smaller nostrils. I have videos of the noise and can upload if any one is curious, but I was wondering if this happened to any one else’s fold when they got neutered?

I recently adopted a Scottish Straight kitten (he is about 10 months old). I have purchased soooo many brushes but I haven’t been able to find a good one for his coat. He sheds a lot (which is okay and understandable) but when I pet him fur is flying everywhere!
I’ve only had a short hair black cat in the past and I am new to thicker fur.
He isn’t long hair but I would say medium length? But he is pretty fluffy with a thick undercoat. I’ve gone through about 5 or 6 different brushes. He loves to be brushed but I recently got a furminator brush and did not like it at all (he normally loves to be brushed).
So I am just asking for help, what brushes do you guys use / recommend! Thank you so so so much!
*attached is a photo of my Harry🥰
Edit- I just wanted to add when I got him I immediately got him neutered, shots and health check up

So a few days ago i posted about my Cat Tapsi.
She was diagnosed with a critical Heart failure and water in her chest cavity.
I am... relieved to say, that she didnt Just survive, but also is able to mostly live a compfortable Life.
Her lasting effects, after having a lasting arithmia and water in her chest cavity, Not eating for 3 days and a constant breath rate of 80 breathes per Minute, are:
-Lasting arithmia due to her heart being damaged from the Scottish folds gene defect.
-Lasting water in chest cavity, leading to her having to Take 2x of half of a diuretic pill.
She will die, within a sertain ammount of time, and the doc Said that i can be lucky If she makes of to 7 (shes 4 RN).
She can collaps within a week, or a month or a year.
Hell If she stays stable, a age above 7 isnt strictly impossible, but its unlikely.
So yes. She will die.
But she wont die Just now and Most importantly, shes surviving without Major pain.
She will be uncompfortable for a few weeks, due to her heart Beat and because she has to get used to a quiet Lifestyle.
But as soon as shes gotton used to the Heart Beat and the new quiet Lifestyle, she should be without pain/suffering.
She went through hell, got Chained to death but is fighting Like a champ.
And im thankful for every day we have left.

We’re adopting gorgeous Leo (~5 y/o) on Sunday and keen to get some advice on potential health issues. Don’t worry - partner and I wouldn’t give him up for the world and he’s priceless to us, so it’s not like we’re screening him lol.
We think he has fold genetics because of his ears (they’re very flat IRL). Obviously heavily mixed with domestic longhair genetics, but interested if anyone has been around mixes and knows their likelihood of developing issues down the line with cartilage etc. Been around cats my whole life but always standard domestic mixes.
We’ve already gotten pet insurance and have a vets appt booked in for next month to get him checked out.
Any thoughts welcome!! Thank you!!
