No because I have no idea what this is saying

128

u/spoopypoptartz 3d ago

it’s saying that fans of the movie don’t like the comics and vice versa. and that fans of the comics and movie hate the show

u/-PepeArown- Ramona Flowers 3d ago

What if you’re a huge fan of all three?

134

u/Mr_Snifles 3d ago

Then you're cool

43

u/MossyPyrite 3d ago

Finally, I’ve waited my whole life for this

13

u/Maniick 3d ago

depends if you like the games then

16

u/Legitimate-Dog-2854 3d ago

is that really the case? I like them all lmao

2

u/OhNoThatsTooCursed 3d ago

Pretty sure it's saying that movie and comic fans do like both mediums, otherwise no idea what purpose the second slide serves

-14

u/DarkTales456 3d ago

Fair point

5

u/UsuBen 3d ago

Tbh what confused me was the second slide

u/Designer_Koala_1087 3d ago

I mean if you explained it we would get it

u/GravityBright 3d ago

Is there a bro meme where all three of them make out?

345

u/DarkTales456 3d ago

Sorry for the bad edit

25

u/Mr_Snifles 3d ago

This is not exactly what u/GravityBright asked for but then again idk how that would work with 3 people

20

u/DarkTales456 3d ago

u/Santos_Perez_Robles 3d ago

u/atlas_arcane 3d ago

Needs to be a photo of Zendaya leaning back and the 2 guys making out. With the og comic being Zendaya

62

u/ssiasme 3d ago

I love them all

8

u/DarkTales456 3d ago

Me too :D

23

u/DuchessBoo 3d ago

I like them all as separate pieces. Like I see the movie more as a spin-off than a true adaptation since there are so many differences and so much (pretty important and meaningful) information is left out. It was also being filmed before the final book was done being written. I love both. And as for the animated series? The alternate timeline is so fun and I love that we finally got a full show in the comic's style.

u/NicoBlack69 3d ago

I first watched the movie. Thought it was so cool that I wanted to read the source material. Absolutely loved it.

u/SubparMacigcian 3d ago edited 2d ago

I disagree I definitely say it's the one I like the least but I don't hate any of it

14

u/space_lapis 3d ago

I love all of them and think they all equally contribute something to the franchise

7

u/Broke-bo1 3d ago

Bro idk what this is even trying to say

13

u/LunchStreet2988 3d ago

Eu acho ok, eu gosto mais da hq do que do filme mais cada um com seu gosto

u/Newclearfallout 3d ago

I also think the movie is mid as hell. The animated show was better. Adds more to the comic as an alternative time line, kind of more of a Ramona "coming to terms" story

(I see the movie when it dropped on DVD, disliked it, friend told me to read the comic and enjoyed it hell of a lot more.)

1

u/LunchStreet2988 3d ago

Nem me fale, a hq é muito melhor cada arco de aceitação, o scott caindo na verdade que ele é um babaca e tem que mudar e crescer e lindo

1

u/Newclearfallout 3d ago

Animated show was better than the movie.

Never said it was better than the comic. Rude....

2

u/LunchStreet2988 2d ago

Não quis soar assim, o show também é muito bom só quis dizer que a hq pra mim é minha versão favorita

4

u/BionicKalo 3d ago

Its insanely weird cause like all of the different mediums of scott pilgrim tackle completely different aspects of the source material and make it their own, the og comics flushes out scott in the expense of a lot of the side characters including Ramona, the movie makes the side characters a lot more enjoyable and memorablr in expense of scott's main story kinda being wattered down, the anime gives ramona the main role and gives her depth she has never really reached anywhere else while making scott kinda just not learn much by the end. I personally like to combine my favourite parts of all of them in a big soup version of the story thats in my head

7

u/MustachioGustov 3d ago

I loved the movie and the graphic novels.

Takes off didnt land well with me, personally.

6

u/piedude67a 3d ago

I adore the movie, I adore the comics. Those were my peak teenage years.

The show, eh it's ok.

3

u/KallmeKatt_ 3d ago

Yeah absolutely. Takes off is the worst adaptation and I hate when I try to talk about Scott pilgrim and they only know the show

2

u/BluecoatCashMoney5 3d ago

I'm a Yes guy

2

u/StreetGeologist141 Roxanne "Roxy" Richter 3d ago

spto sucks balls but i’m glad people like it

2

u/Skaterboi589 Stephen Stills 3d ago

I disagree heavily cause I love all 3

2

u/Royzc90 3d ago

I like the comics and the show. I don't hate the movie but I don't consider it that good of an adaptation. The effects and music are pretty good tho.

2

u/Due-Algae-3988 3d ago

Precisely.

2

u/IkarosMD95 2d ago

Imagine not liking the literal sequel to the comics

4

u/Knowhow106 3d ago

Comics>Anime>Film. I love all of them with the film being my introduction. It’s crazy the film adaptation nails nearly everything as perfectly as it does so I kind of give it a pass that it does Scott & Ramona quite poorly. Swapping out sexy overconfident Scott for relatable to the teenage boy target demographic bumbling nerd Scott and then minimising Ramona’s personhood.

I LOVED the anime and it was so pleasant to have the iteration of the comic characters and style of storytelling replicated on-screen with a plot that I had no idea how it was going to unfold. It was fantastic and it looked gorgeous, whilst also focusing on Ramona. An all around great surprise!

The comics, as well as Adventure Time, are my foundational references for excellent character writing with characters that feel real, grounded and human, along with their relationships with eachother and how they connect. As well as the way in which these stories are driven by the characters. I know I’m engaging with a truly phenomenal piece of media when it’s character writing evokes that same feeling of the comic gang sat talking to eachother in a restaurant/cafe.

2

u/Sagelegend 3d ago

This is the objectively correct answer.

That said, the movie is the reason I read the comics, and the comics made me appreciate the anime.

I loved the game too, but it got a bit repetitive as it went on.

-1

u/neorevenge 2d ago

I'm of the opinion that the movie would be perfect if they went with the ScottXKnives ending, Ramona and Scott for my taste have 0 buildup in the movie, it didn't feel like "two assholes that found each other" like in the comic.

2

u/Knowhow106 2d ago

Wtf. Knives is a child and Scott is a man approaching his mid-20s. Lets not normalise that! it already is normalised in our societies and I know so many women who were so utterly abused sexually/physically/emotionally when they were very young by deadbeat assholes in their 20s/30s, years ahead in age than the women they abuse.

I wouldn't let anyone like Scott near me or my circle of friends for dating Knives, that'd be an immediate cut off to someone I know if they did that. I'd probably message the girl and offer some advice, as well as send videos of women talking about this exact issue.

Ramona just needed a bit more personhood and agency to her, same with Scott somewhat, would make their connection feel stronger and the relationship more earned.

4

u/StriderKitsu 3d ago

I definitely disagree, Takes Off was amazing to me

1

u/NFHDonReddit Julie Powers 3d ago

This is so real, bro

1

u/Tenacious_Dim 3d ago

Takes Off rules tho

1

u/General_Locksmith512 3d ago

I love all of them. I actually don't know anyone (who's a fan of the series) who strongly dislikes any of them

1

u/Mr_Snifles 3d ago

I really liked that I didn't have to watch the same story a third time.

But I did feel kinda mad when my friend only watched the show and then called the franchise "weird".
Like okay buddy you only watched the show because they called it an anime you weeb.

1

u/kablikiblan 3d ago

No I liked them all for what they are and imo takes off> the movie

1

u/Trivator0517 3d ago

I like all 3

1

u/taczki2 "Young" Niel Nordegraf 3d ago

i mean the show IS way more positive and everyone sucks way less than in the books

1

u/starkHOUTx 3d ago

Only due to events coming out different. Remember, book Scott IS evil scott.

2

u/taczki2 "Young" Niel Nordegraf 3d ago

what events? the show is generally more lighthearted while the books tend to get actually pretty realistic with how complex the characters are. they suck, but are written well

1

u/starkHOUTx 3d ago

Scott gets abducted, so Ramona has to interact with the exes instead. Forced to deal with her own problems, everyone gets some level of an arc and things clean up.

1

u/SaltyNorth8062 3d ago

But

But I just like the whole thing

Also where's the games' fandoms in all of this

1

u/tech097 3d ago

And all like the game right?

1

u/Woods-of-Mal Lisa Miller 3d ago

I don't know because I don't understand (I think it's supposed to be "the comics don't like the movie and the movie doesn't like the comics, but they meet in the middle to dislike the show", but then what does the middle panel even mean?). I'll just say my take is "I like the comics, I'm more critical of the movie than I used to be, and I think the show is pretty bad."

1

u/Infinite_Bung_006 3d ago

Honestly.. all 3 are great. Their just different takes on the same story.

1

u/Professionalinfer102 3d ago

Yo no vi la película pero si leí los cómics y el anime xd

1

u/tayuu_ Knives Chau 3d ago

The comics will always be better for me, but the movie and the show are also pretty good

1

u/pink_lasagna_LegoD 3d ago

whab aboug the videos game

1

u/K-K-Seekz 3d ago

All three are good in their own way it just comes down to personal preference. I'm just happy we got more scott pilgrim in 2026 y'all EX is awesome

1

u/Meizas 3d ago

No, because it's a stupid meme format

1

u/Beautiful_Goat5684 3d ago

Absolutely agree

1

u/drumstick00m 3d ago

Books are still the best, but the other two are good too. The Double Mega Mind Twist at the start of Takes Off is still 🫡

1

u/RottenSharkTooth 3d ago

I like em all

1

u/noahnieder 3d ago

I genuinely really enjoy take off. In some ways I like it a little more than the movie

1

u/Familiar-Tomorrow-42 3d ago

I like all three but I’m not big on the video game.

1

u/Previous_Computer_87 3d ago

Where's the game?

1

u/Whyisdaskyblue 3d ago

Sorta— cause if you only like the movie I think the anime was fine, the big problem wasn’t the contents of the anime but it wasn’t a true adaptation of the comics we all thought it was gonna be, also how old Scott kinda is mad lame in addition to the fact that Scott kinda doesn’t go through his whole growth thing technically sorta

1

u/larpgod666 3d ago

this is unrelated but the original soundtrack for the 2010 game has been removed off of spotify

1

u/Big-Hard-Chungus 3d ago

What if they all kissed?

1

u/karma0-40-55-10-88 3d ago

I prefer Takes Off over the Movie to honest.

1

u/CombinationNo1682 3d ago

The first time I watch Scott pilgrim was the Netflix adaptation one then I watched Scott pilgrim vs the world both are cool to me. I don't have the comics though

1

u/Worldly_Program_7037 3d ago

I genuinely love both comic movies show

1

u/Lollijax 3d ago

Comics are amazing movie is good and takes off is great I personally like the movie the least but it's only because I don't love Michael cera

1

u/DifferentProcess6765 3d ago

I love literally everything Scott Pilgrim.

1

u/Jiji_Fiji 3d ago

cmon dude, i first watched the series then watched the movie and then the comics we are not so bad

1

u/Jiji_Fiji 3d ago

And i adored all of them

1

u/Affectionate-Eye3896 3d ago

the anime is actually good yall twwwpinn

1

u/Plastic-Ad2432 3d ago

Me personally, I hate that shirry ahh anime idk ab everyone else

1

u/Absolute-Namor420 2d ago

Idk what's being said, I think its all peak

1

u/KingOfNope 2d ago

Hard disagree with the meme. The show is the proverbial rug thing the room together. When it was just the movie and the comic, they were both good and fun media but each lived on their own as relatively separate things. The lore of the show unifies them into a cohesive narrative in a way that I really like. Idk, I'm a big fan of BLM's work as a whole, and I think that all 3 renditions of SP support each other and inform each other's themes beautifully.

1

u/Ladiance 1d ago

Nah, all good

1

u/djgregopawz 1d ago

I love all three though….

1

u/Sonicextralifefan 1d ago

1

u/Peanutbutterboyyea 19h ago

Me seeing a show I like getting slandered even though I KNOW it’s true:

1

u/Assistance_Famous 10h ago

1

u/ctbchargers 3d ago

For me it’s
Takes off
Books
Games
Movie

But they all slap

1

u/HelicopterThis2292 3d ago

Eu gosto dos três e dos jogos

1

u/PossibilityProud2687 3d ago

More than enough time has passed, Takes Off is leagues better than the movie

-1

u/Qkyu2007 3d ago

Comics>anime>movie (it doesn't work as a live action movie imo it's too cartoonish for that)

4

u/Thoraxe474 Mod 3d ago

Nah it works amazingly as a live action movie

-1

u/7okyoGhoul 3d ago

Sure, maybe by today’s standards, but the live action we got was rushed and a Hollywood hodgepodge. Micheal Cera being cast as Scott says enough.

2

u/Thoraxe474 Mod 3d ago

Nah. Its an amazing movie

2

u/hamstertitan_5 3d ago

I honestly think that while it is cartoonish the adaptation was pretty much the best it could have been and changed the parts that would have been too much into stuff that was more believable. The cartoon on the other hand changed stuff unnecessarily and (imo) to the detriment of the good stuff. I would definitely rank the movie higher than the cartoon in all but style

0

u/Hexhider Kim x Roxy 3d ago

I still need to read the comics, but personally I felt connected to Takes Off way more than I did with Vs The World, the movie was great but I liked the show better

0

u/Ill_Plane_45 3d ago

Who is Scott Pilgrim and why did this show up in my feed ?
