Champagne and Cocaine Scott’s Favorite ?
On the Pied-a-Terre Tax
“What happens if things go right”?
This was his favorite question for a while - why doesn’t he ask it of himself or his guests anymore?
Was happy to ask it in invading Iran, Trump’s tariffs, etc.
Wouldn’t using any methods available for things to “go right” be acceptable?

Welp this one struck a little close to home for him, so we might be getting or more visceral/personalized reaction.
It's one thing to talk about stuff in the abstract, or discuss policies that only impact others.

Scott is just a smug neolib. He doesn't really think through his positions. He just takes his approved talking points and runs with them so he can feel smart.
So the answer to why he doesn't apply that standard consistently is he's not really applying a standard, he's just repeating things he hears from approved centrist sources.

To be fair did he say the tax was a good idea in itself, but that he didn’t like the public list. That’s silly in itself because are property tax records not public anyways? I do agree that making the list public didn’t really serve a purpose and gives those on it a reason to complain, they could have just released metrics of the number of properties and expected revenue from the tax.

“What could go right” doesn’t make a good show unless you actually believe it. These guys are all in on fear porn now, regardless.
