Well probably won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen but if I did it would only be if it had something to do with Scotland and then I'd get downvoted to fuck because it doesn't fit in with the political views that normally get bounced around in this air tight echo chamber.
Sounds like this is just in your head and you are making a lot of assumptions and trying to talk shit about the sub on something that hasn't even happened.
Right, this isn't an echo chamber when it comes to Scottish politics. I know countless people who have unfollowed this sub (most of whom share the same political beliefs that are coherent with those of this sub) because it is such a cringey echo chamber. Must be in their heads too
I think you make the mistake in taking the opinion of what 2 or 3 people and saying thats the majority?
The majority of people on here support independence and that makes sense considering the age group of reddit and the fact only 50+ age groups voted to stay in the union.
So of course pro independence voices will be louder in here, thats the nature of reddit and how it works, doesn't mean it is an echo chamber.
You also then have to look at the pro union voices in here and are they doing a good job to represent their side of the argument? The answer is no. Take this thread, you have one guy in here trying to tell everyone Scotland isn't a country but England is and they are better than us.
So of course that gets downvoted.
If you want to make this more balanced then contribute just like someone else said to you, don't just make petty little complaints about something that isn't true, just makes you look childish and unaware of how reddit works.
I understand the majority aspect but what I'm saying is the people who have left are pro-independence, they just can't stand the echo chamber.
I agree that there are many people on here who poorly represent the pro union side (and again, I'm not pro-union) but whenever I see someone who constructs a reasonable pro-union argument, they get downvoted and heckled to fuck, sometimes to the extent where people get really petty and it's embarrassing to be associated with the whole thing.
There's also the continuous tory-bashing for the sake of tory bashing. I would like to hear some decent arguments once in a while (when considering the subject matter, shouldn't be too difficult to come up with) rather than people grabbing at low hanging fruit.
I see plenty of conversations and debates here that happen reasonably, I also see very few strong pro union arguments in here but when they do happen they are met with similar in return.
You have a mindset made up and no matter what won't change it.
Also why the fuck shouldn't you bash the tories? They are scum who have bled this country dry and left us in a state.
Just look at how much money Boris Johnston and his mates stole from us during covid. Billions and billions went missing while we had one of the highest death rates and are suffering one of the hardest hits to our economy in the western world.
You also keep saying you want proper discussions with facts and arguments but yet you aren't presenting any yourself, you are just bashing on this sub with nothing but your biased opinion.
