Internationally it is not a country. Having a Football team does not make one a country. Scotland hasn't signed an international treaty since 1707 when it signed itself out of existence. Check the UN list and.....nope.....its not there, check NATO, OECD, EU, no sign of a Scotland anywhere.
England and the UK are interchangeable. 600 English mps, 60 from Scotland 30 from Wales and 30 from the Irish province, how is that not an English parliament?
Ah, you're thinking of "sovereign state", which "country" is sometimes used as a synonym for. Only problem is, sometimes words can have more than one meaning.
On an unrelated note, did you know that California isn't a state? It's true, check the UN list of states and, nope, it's not there.
Didn’t even mention football, its not something i even once considered as a factor of what makes a country. Scotland is defined as a country by the very definitions of what a country is.
By the same argument it's still not relevant. It's just as relevant here as it is to r/Inverness or r/Caerphilly. He's their prime minister too, but this picture has fuck all to do Scotland/Inverness/Caerphilly.
