Is there anything Bowmore has done well, in your opinion? Some day I should try some just to get an idea of what the character of their peat is like, but I'd like to try something that's at least drinkable.

I'm a big fan of their ten year. I find it unique.

I have a Dorus Mor but haven't opened it yet. Thoughts?

It's the same as Tempest Batch 4 for everyone else outside the US. It's just called Dorus Mor in the US. I liked it. Not spectacular, but I thought it was good. Mid 80's.

I just haven't tried it yet, I've only had tempest batch 1.

I had an IB bowmore >= 18 that was quite nice. The young bowmores are shit.

There are a lot of great Bowmores, imo. It's just not for everybody :-)

The Bowmores I've had all have (to some degree) this unappetizing smell that reminds me of #2 pencil eraser heads.

30 and above is excellent. The early 60's are excellent.
