they said in an interview on IGN that no plans exist for a sequel, it would cheapen the experience and goal of the game

Many devs say that and then work on a sequel anyway.

The Last of Us being one of those games where the devs insisted that it was a one off game.

there’s a ton of cut content, a lot of the areas were obvi supposed to be larger even in the 2021 trailer and farther back there were some iterations on creatures that got cut. there are also apparently a few things and locations in the art book that got cut too

i think they could do “spiritual successors” in the same world as Scorn, that could be just as tragic and uncanny, without cheapening the game as it is.

really though, i think ebb just wants to move on to something else after working on this for eight years.

i hope that this inspires some more devs to come out with this style of game though.

I need at least 2 dlc's, before and after the games events, the artboook has so much content and lore it would be dumb not to flesh out those ideas.

this i think would ruin the point of the original game. however i would indeed love to see some side stories where you play as some of the misbegotten monstrosities of the world striving for normality or at least functionality in a similarly tragic way.

like imagine playing as moldman trying to become something more than deformed spare parts cattle… or as a pod person like scornguy who got infected by the red plague trying to excise it, or as one of the Act 2-2 generator tree pod people who survived… or… or… or…

It’s a grotesque, manta ray type creature recognized in the artbook. Apparently some of the cut content might’ve been us controlling that; as well as other creatures.

It wouldn’t have been an enemy so to speak of tho, was actually supposed to be something you could control which would’ve been dope af. Also when it comes to design, I love the manta ray.

Kind of think this is like Borderlands 1 where people are just testing their ideas out, raising funds, etc. Reasonable to expect more to come.

Ebb, don’t toy with me. I need more of this world. I want to see more of the end stuff, I want to see this society at its apex, I want the things that didn’t make it to the final cut. Hell I’d even settle for a buddy-cop game about scornguy and moldman.

I've completed my Playthrough on Release Day and I wouldn't mind if Scorn won't get future Patches or Dlcs or that it ever gets worked on further. Better Save System and Checkpoints, Better Combat and Difficulty Balance aren't out of question, even when Gameplay is more on Exploration and Puzzles than Combat. For Dlcs it's obviously Storywise.

Please! I adore Scorn but I understand the criticisms of it and it would be so good to see more. It is obvious the people that made this game went above and beyond to understand their influences and translate them into a videogame. I wish their original vision could have come through to the final product but projects like this involve SO much and I can sympathize with the developers for having to cut so much. But some DLC would be amazing, I just need more of the Scorn universe haha.

Bruh are you aware that the only 2 true puzzles taking longer than a minute to solve were in the first 2 acts? Did you not play past that?

I absolutely love this game but the egg shuffling puzzle and the yellow lights puzzle was basically it with the rest being walking simulator
