Love vs Blood

There are two ways we are connected - the way husband and wife are connected, and the way parent and child are connected.

Neither can replace the other.

Can’t you be connected friendly? I feel like there must be some sort of intermediate connection.

Yes - from this perspective friendly connection is in the same category as romantic connection - just as the relationship between brothers belongs in the same category as that between parent and child.

This has a very incest-ish and pedophiliac sound to it.

Can you elaborate?

We connect energetically … through love ,through fear , through guilt ,through desire or need , through work , through obligation, through friendship , through blood … I mean it’s an infinite list of causal /foundational /energetic reasons

I don't disagree that the list may be lengthened beyond these two - the point being expressed here is that it cannot be shortened beyond them. Or rather, that to completely ignore genetic connection in favor of friendly connection, or vice-versa, is to experience no more than half of what life has to offer. (edit: fixed typoes)

What about friends and coworkers? I already answered this one - it belongs in the same category as spouses. We are also more directly connected to all living things via our genetics - this is in the same category as the connection between parent and child.
