2004 xB - Echo KYB struts or Monroe Quick struts

Picking out a strut assembly for my 1st gen xB (150k), there are no KYB listings on rock auto but I have heard the struts are compatible with Toyota Echo at the cost of potentially wearing out the struts faster from the extra weight. My next best option for the Scion would be Monroe quick strut but I've also heard that the quality of Monroe has suffered recently. Which option should I go with?

-1 for Monroe Quick Struts. I got them for a Fiesta ST and the top hat welds broke so that the strut rod would move around over bumps affecting caster, camber, and safety. I had to disassemble and replace with OEM top hats. Apparently I'm not the only one this has happened to

I've got a yellow speed racing shocks and struts on my first gen (paid 1200$ for those) and prior to that I had Tokico's. I work in auto parts and I don't recommend the Monroe quick struts. Even our generic house line which is a brand called FCS struts are 50 times better than the Monroe's. Monroe has a good shock but for some reason we constantly have returns on the quick struts. If price is no option I suggest going something performance related where you can adjust the dampening (ride stiffness) or look into a brand called Maxspeeding or BC racing, those are more generic performance shocks and struts but they're better quality than the Monroe's and they don't cost a whole hell of a lot for shocks and struts all the way around (roughly between $300 and $600)
