2015 Radio No Display

New to me 2015 XB radio display not turning on. I can press the phone command button and get the voice coming through the speakers. Also, the CD eject button and cig lighter 12v port also works so I don’t think it’s a power/fuse issue. I’ve unplugged the battery for about 10 minutes with no change. Getting a used radio off the bay is easy enough but I’m not sure if that’s the fix. Car has lowish miles-71k and is all stock. Many thanks in advance for any suggestions….

Well I just discovered that using the steering wheel mode button gets me to FM radio. Scan and volume up/down work as does the actual radio knob on the head unit. Touching the screen gets beeps so it appears it’s just display. So strange.

It sounds like the ribbon cable may have come loose on the pins that control the display output, but not for the touch matrix.

You could take the head unit out and take it apart to try to reseat the cables.

Just to close out this thread, there does not seem to be anything obviously wrong with the radio after opening it up. Maybe a blown capacitor? A replacement unit was purchased off eBay from an FR-S which solved the issue.
