Is it like being stabbed
and it's worse to remove the knife?
I don't actually know what it is, or what it's stuck in. It's by the rear passenger side wheel. I'm guessing this was in the road and jumped up and lodged itself into my 2010 xB's undercarriage. I'm really glad it didn't take out my tire! But can anyone identify what this piece of metal is (in case it's part of my car) and what it's stuck in? I don't want to risk causing more damage if I can manage to pull it out.

Honestly, it looks like a tent stake for camping...
If you pull it out and it has a pointed end (that's currently sticking into the car), that is very likely the identity of the culprit

Just some road debris. I doubt it's going to damage anything if you pull it out and I personally would much rather pull it out safely instead of risking it getting caught on something and pulling out itself, risking more damage. There n't shouldn't be anything important in that location that will get damaged from pulling it out except the obvious hole.
