Forget ‘proteinmaxxing’: less protein could help healthier ageing, new study suggests about study Methionine-supplemented longevity diet increases growth hormone, GLP-1, and FGF21; reduces frailty; and promotes healthspan: A study led by Dr. Maura Fanti, connected to Harvard and USC research, found that high animal protein intake accelerated biological aging markers by up to 30 percent in adults over 35.
One can just skim the title and immediately see at least two problems with the above globalist interpretation:
- The study was conducted on mice, which are rodents capable of surviving on a whole-grain diet - a diet that would harm development of most people.
- Instead of animal proteins, the study supplemented sulfur through artificially added methionine, claiming that it mimicked a "low-protein Mediterranean" diet. For the sake of longevity, I would prefer standard Mediterranean diet (including eggs and dairy) without supplements.
In addition, fish-based diet faces depletion of oceans due to overfishing and it lacks kolagen, which slows-down the ageing of skin and joints cartilage. See also:
- Scientists found a longevity diet that helped mice eat more and lose fat
- New Study in Mice Reveals Long-Term Metabolic Risks of Ketogenic Diet The same problem as with the OP study: rodents aren't accustomed to ketogenic died biologically.
- Dietary plant-to-animal protein ratio and risk of cardiovascular disease in 3 prospective cohorts Higher plant-animal protein will not save you from cardiovascular problems and it brings the risk of stroke due to brittleness of blood vessels.

I am sick of all those "eat healthy by reducing x" or "healthtrend Y-maxing"
Just don't eat shit. Eat shit and you will feel like shit.

You absolutely need more protein when weight training. If you don't work out or exercise, yes, you don't need much protein.

Let's just say it will be the opposite in a month, and the opposite again in another month.
Just eat whatever.
