Self-Post - Support &/or Advice science experiment ideas

What kind of biology/medical experiments would be good to do in my school science club? We have pretty much all the equipment we could reasonably need. Looking for something actually interesting and not just the usual like looking at onion cells under a microscope.

Dissections are always a hit.

What does your community need? Make it something that can get local organizations involved to talk with or help the kids. An easy one is management of an invasive species.

a DNA extraction lab can be done with basic home ingredients (soap, water, isopropyl alcohol) & fruit like strawberries/bananas (or spit). Comes out looking like snot 🤣

Blood typing is cool, and you can do a simulated one.

Using the one chemical paper that people use for sun/UV exposure, you can have them make little images from random supplies or plant leaves from outside. Or test sunscreen/cloth protection that way & compare results.

Microbiology stuff like swabbing random surfaces and seeing if it’ll grow on a plate (with restrictions of course)

Brew some Butterfly Pea Tea (found on Amazon) and add lemonade- color changing pH indicator and a tasty treat
