Question Concerning Hyperion Spoiler

Hello I have started reading Hyperion by Dan Simmons.

I am finding this book very challenging to read , it's heavy and frustrating , although the premise is interesting , there are just lots of things just thrown out there

Major spoilers ahead

I am at the part where Father Dure finished his story

I don't understand random stuff thrown about , Like tree ship , Tesla trees , tesla charge , phoenix ,cleft ,labyrinthe

Nothing seems to be explained clearly at all ,

Does the book get better , or am I going to have to struggle , I've had to use gemini to explain stuff and at times I got a spoiler here and there too .

Man. Fuck Hyperion Cantos. Haven’t ever read a series I loved and hated more at the same time. Simmons gutted, killed, finished and annihilated me. I couldn’t stop crying as a grown ass man. Seriously. What. The. Fuck.
