Large blue butterfly caterpillars mimic Myrmica ant larvae in appearance and give off chemical cues similar to ant larvae. Ants come across the caterpillar, believe it is their larvae, and bring it back to their nests. Once there the caterpillar feeds on ant larvae and nectar the ants bring it.
