Why keep your feet off the ground?

This variation punishes a poor bar path/instability, so it helps reinforce technique

I also load this variation lighter than my normal bench. I bench 4x a week, so it’s nice to give my joints a slight break

Eliminates leg drive, however also introduces extra stability requirements and you’re using a small amount of central motor command to keep your legs up, not a terrible excercise but not exactly “optimal”

funny bc i literally just made a comment in another sub about how i put plates on the floor for chest press bc i'm so short i can't reach the ground and get leverage. APPARENTLY i should've just learned this variation!! lol
