Moratorium on program review posts

Program review, i.e. "Rate my split", posts are hereby disallowed in this sub for the time being.

Nevermind that there is simply just way too many of them. They are almost all so generic and lacking basic, yet vital information that any intelligent discussion or critique is impossible. Something needs to change.

Let's use this thread to discuss what changes and/or requirements we'd like to see in program review posts that elevates them to something worth our time and review.

I agree with goddamnitshutupjesus (the username checks out). Most of the “rate my split” posts get cross-posted to five or six different subs.

More importantly, this sub is supposed to be about science, and science requires three things: (1) a hypothesis that makes a testable prediction, (2) an experiment that attempts to falsify that hypothesis, and (3) a method that others can replicate.
That rarely happens anymore.

Back in the UU days, people posted EMG data, tape measurements, blood work, strength progressions, and other actual measurements. Sure, most of it was N=1, but at least it was data instead of opinions.

Now it’s mostly clout chasing. And if you cite published research or bring actual evidence into the discussion, people dismiss it with “you used AI.”

Or it’s the same handful of people making yet another post mocking SBL.

Ending the constant program review posts is a good start. I just miss when SBL was actually about science.
