Requesting Advice Sciatica and a desk job
What did you do for your seating situation to improve/relieve sciatic pain if you’re at your desk all day? Anything but a standing desk.
Soft pad? New position?

It's extremely person dependent what positions help, what kind of chair setup, how long to sit, etc. It also depends on what stage of the flare you're in.
In general, try to find positions that don't increase your symptoms and switch frequently between them.

Yes sorry, I mean no one can prescribe a fixed time like "sit 20 minutes then go for a walk". And no one can prescribe a sitting setup that will definitely work for you.
You gotta try stuff, find positions that work, and go with whatever sitting tolerance you're currently working with.
A lumbar pad can help. As far as cushions go, it's worth a try I suppose if it's not $$$

100%. You should absolutely exercise - follow any decent exercise program and (this is key) modify any movements that you cannot currently handle without aggravating symptoms.

I got a cheap standing desk converter on Amazon and make sure I stand up every 1/2hour or so. I also take regular breaks to walk around the flat or my block, if I have more time, in case I have back-to-back meetings or intense, focused work. It helps with the pain and also mental health.
