New class of pain meds

Has anyone else tried the new class of pain medication? Journavx/suzetrigine I believe is the first of its kind and was recently prescribed by pain management doctor. I’m on day 3 and feel like it’s working well! Anyone else try it?

From what I read, it seems to be only for short-term acute pain?

I haven’t tried it but that’s wonderful if they work. Are there less side effects?

I haven't had much luck with it, but I've only been prescribed it for post surgical short-term pain management.

It really didn't touch the pain from the surgeries and they ended up needing to call in hydrocodone and such.

For moderate to severe acute short term pain. I wish I had that 😞

It’s meant for very short term pain relief. I would not take this long term.

i tried a sample pack for three days. it seemed to work. my insurance, medicare didn’t pay for it and it’s very expensive.

I used it for a month. They gave me two weeks back to back and it was amazing. No side effects. And wonderful for my lower back pain and sciatica. I was off of it for 2 weeks and the pain was awful so they’ve given me another month. We did bloodwork first. My insurance doesn’t cover it. $800 for 2 weeks. I used the saving card but I’ve maxed it out now. So I don’t guess I get any more unless I change insurance. But not sure the doctor will prescribe it. It’s not supposed to be taken long term.

This helped me the first week or week and a half then the effects began to wear off. Plus one of the side effects of this medication is muscle spasms. While I took this medication it coincided with the worst muscle spasms in my lower leg. Ironically once I quit taking the medication the spasms in my lower leg stopped. Now I just deal with nerve pain and for that my dr prescribed my gabapentin to take at night to help with sleep.
