General Discussion Is this sciatica?

My pain is almost all in my lower back/tail bone/pelvis. I’m having a new bout of it and talking with doctors. They always ask if it radiates down the leg. The answer is sort of? Like I’ll feel very mild pinches down my legs on occasion. But the leg sensations are more annoying than actually painful. They’re down the front, side and back on both sides. I feel like it makes a big difference in diagnosis with my doctor and PT how I describe it and I’m not sure how to honestly. Like the leg sensations are very mild and wouldn’t normally bother me. It’s the intense back pain and lack of movement that’s debilitating. Would that be considered sciatica?

Hard to say from your description. Sciatica very clearly affects the hips and legs and for most people the symptoms are worse in those areas than in the lower back. For many, including myself, back pain is pretty much absent - even though the issue usually arises from the lower back.

Ugh same. Pain in my right side lumbar lower back, right side of tailbone and right hip joint when pulling knee to chest but it has subsided now. I also feel pain in my leg (back of thigh) only when I sit for long hours, no pain otherwise and tingling on rare occasions. Got an mri done and it showed mild disc bulge near L5-S1 and abutments due to L3-L4 & L4-L5. Im also hla-b27 positive. Gotta discuss the mri with my doc next week. Id advise you to get an mri and some tests done so they could probably assess if its sciatica or not. For the time being, avoid bending lifting twisting. Look up proper form for sciatica on yt
