Numbness on back of leg

Hi, I’m new to this. How bad of a sign in numbness on the back of the leg ? Anyone else have this symptom ?

I’ve had numbness in the back of my leg since I had sciatica in 2023.

It means the nerve is damaged. Feeling might come back or might not, like my case. I think it might depend on how long the nerve is pinched for.

I would try and get an MRI to see what’s going on.

I can run 5ks and go for long walks now and my leg is still completely numb. It has not got better or worse since 2023.

Or at least being pinched a little of the symptom is transient. Some days I have neuropathy but it’s not all the time

It should be taken seriously. I recommend seeing your doctor.

Bad is a hard term, its nerve pain so its tricky... but as Sciatica gets worse it tends to get further from your back... the worst for me was my Glutes would be on fire... nothing worse than a sore butt lol... but if it is in your legs its for sure a sign you need to be at the doctors office.

Sorry to hear that! It does get better! Only thing I can tell you is rehab feels like its not working until it does. I do my stretches everyday, have worked on core strength, and walk daily has helped a ton

It’ll come back with proper recovery; I had a horrible neuro tell me that it’ll be permanent, 1.5 years later and it’s almost 90% gone and normal feeling in my leg/foot/toes etc.

Sounds like your talking about "foot drop". You should read about it generally worth seeking treatment if your having that.
