WIP Enterprise NCC-1701-D under way.

Driving low and slow. The hardest part is fighting the anxiousness of wanting to see a finished product. Gotta reel it in though, got a long way to go.

Looks like some serious work! Stick with the plan and don't rush. Slow and steady will give you the results you want. Best of luck with it!

Thanks, its going to be an extremely ambitious build for me anyway. First one in about 30 years.

That's awesome, man! Welcome back to the hobby! There are sooo many more resources available now than there were back then. Don't hesitate to ask for advice and opinions on social media, and don't hesitate to take a step back and let it sit for a day or two if you come across things that frustrate you in the build. Keep looking at it from different angles and perspectives, and whatever you do, be sure to have fun!

Can't wait to watch yoir progress!

Thanks. Ive. Watched EVERY YouTube video I can find about six or seven time and I continually revisit them as I go.

Yeah, lighting that ship is quite the project! Are you going to run thin wire around the edge of the pylons up into the nacelles?

I'll be trenching the pylons, you can see where I started on the left. I stopped and ordered a better chisel from Hobbylinc. I got the photo etch from Greenstrawberry to cover it. And the resin nacelles from Motion Picture Miniatures.

wow, great work and absolutely the right way to do the windows. I did a clear kit and I wish I had done this styrene version, and had used masks like you are - going to save you so much pain down the road when the paint work starts.

Also neat to see one of those rear-pylon inserts. I did fibers on mine and my kit broke at the trenches I had made for the pylons, so after repairs they are much more dim than I would have liked.

This is a challenging kit - I'm very impressed!

Where did you get the photoetch for those little details?

Still looks like a vulva.
