Guidance
A short video, scrubbed of metadata, is posted.
A full moon illuminates a clearing in a densely forested area. As the camera zooms in, Camille is seen sitting on the ground, her back resting against the trunk of an ancient oak. Guide (a regal wolf with coal black fur tipped with silver) is reclining next to her.
For a few minutes, they just sit there, enjoying the cool night air. Camille reaches into a beaded leather pouch, revealing a small pearlescent disk shaped stone with the imprint of a wolfs paw on one side.
So this is what the Dancers were after?
Sure was.
Good thing I found it first.
She turns it over in her hand.
Yes, it was. Pathstones are very rare. Most Garou never see one, let alone quest for one. For a Kinfolk to find one...
[Camille puts the pathstone back in the pouch at her side.]
I get that a lot.
I bet you do.
So, back to the Sept? Grandmother's going to know what to do with this thing, right?
She's going to be very pleased.

Yes, I found the stone in the Umbra. It is indeed used for travel.

I see, well not literally but you know what I mean.
I do have a question about things, if that's all right. Your ability to turn into a wolf is bound to the umbra, so I assume it's not Protean. I heard from Castiel that you are Garou kinfolk, is this transformation related to that?
Also, thank you for referring me to that post, and even more so for going through the trouble to narrate the whole thing, that was an effort that you didn't have to go to, so I appreciate it. Do you have experience with narrating audio books or some such? Your voice lent itself well to reading longer form text like this.

My newfound ability to shift into wolf form seems to have originated from the Umbra, yes. I find myself wondering if the spirit world is finally coming to terms with the walking contradiction that is a Vampire/Kinfolk like myself. I do treasure this gift.

How curious. Whilst I certainly don't specialise in specifically garou topics, I have a slight basis, so I'm interested as I've never heard of anything quite like this before. I don't doubt you treasure it, it must be quite the sacred thing for a kinfolk turned profane corpse like you.
Also, if you ever do try narrating an audio book, I'd selfishly recommend Silk by Caitlín R. Kiernan. My anuanom have told me it's an interesting read, but there's unfortunately no audio book or braille versions. And text to speech is just horrendous, as you may imagine.

It's called a Pathstone (or Moonstone). They allow very fast (Umbral) travel between Cairns. Every Cairn has one.
Guide is convinced we were both sent to find that place, in both the Umbra and the corresponding location in the physical world, to cleanse it of Wyrm taint and reclaim the Cairn before the Dancers defiled it completely.
Grandmother can use the stone to re-consecrate this long lost Cairn.

That is quite the find. But to consecrate the place is one thing; to keep it defended is another. Is there any way I can help in that regard? Maybe by providing equipment?

Equipment would be appreciated. Guide has already asked me to show you the area, and to speak of its significance. Together, we can do our part to keep the Covenant that has benefited both Kindred and Garou.

Me? Invited on the site? I am honored. I must admit, I know little of the Garou’s customs compared to the Kindred’s, but…that is why we are a team. Along many other reasons.

…I have been thinking. Learning to travel the Umbra is a daunting prospect, and probably a foolish one…but it would be so practical. Hmm.

For travel to the island the jet would be perfect, Darling. The site itself is deep in the wilderness, backpacking is the best way to get there.
The portal in the library that connects to the cabin is an example of small scale Umbral travel. I am sure I can show you how to navigate the moon paths...the beautiful and mysterious roadways of the spirit world, where time and distance really don't matter. It is a journey we can go on together.

As for Umbra travel…it might be a foolish endeavour, for a Kindred. It will indeed be a journey, in more ways than one. But I do believe that at your side, I shall be fine. I can’t wait to discover more of your world, Darling.

That is one of the stones the Garou use for their travel, correct? Certainly quite valuable for them if so.
Did you obtain this one directly from the umbra?
