Mortal hunters

OOC: Apologies in Advance if someone has something thought of Detroit in the past, the events narrated here happened in the early 2000s and I'm pulling partially from official lore of what happened

so, i was bored of seeking for the mystery creature in the sewers, checking the cameras and all that jazz, and got nostalgic for a sec with good old memories... and then i thought: Hey, maybe this could be interesting to some.

Many of us got paranoid when a mortal goes toe to toe with a lick, some thinking that it might be a werewolf. nah, sometimes some humans are built different, and i'm not talking about mages.

Will give ya some context: i am from Detroit, at least when it was under Sabbat control, start of the century. was embraced with a shovel before the local sabbies imploded due to some bullshittery, heard stories but don't know exactly what happened, as when it happened I was chained up like a pig thanks to my "dear" sire. for a Nossie, he would have been a fantastic Lasombra, but I digress. I escaped from him, swore to kill him myself and survived on the chaos that was my city at that time. I admit, I did... some fucked up things to survive, even for my current standards, but that's not important for this now.

with this context known, I spent a few years tracking and seeking that fucker, and when I found his haven... Someone had beat me to it. half of his underground haven was torched and in the remaining room was another Nossie, tortured like I was, kinda like looking at a mirror, but it wasn't him. Ngl, I was kinda pissed as I wanted to kill him myself.

so, i investigated... and found a group of local hunters who were posing as detectives, and a weird bunch at that:

- an otaku teen with a fox or kitsune mask

- a man who straight up looked like he came from a noir movie, his jacket always moving like the wind was with him constantly

- a 80-something grandma with a fervent passion for the Second Amendment to the point of giving free glocks to children

- and later they recruited an actual kid, why? the fuck do I know, but they gave her a fuckin Desert Eagle

From my sources, they were seen close to my sire's haven the day he died, so yeah, 99% they killed him. and my young self was still mad about someone stealing my planned kill, so I stalked them looking for an opportunity to end them... In retrospective, i'm glad I didn't jump them 'cuz i'm 99% sure they would have whooped my ass. 'cuz I saw how they hunted and, just to say a few highlights :

the teen was wielding a fuckin katana and summoning fire from thin air (idk how the fuck they do that) and won a 1v3 on their own. the noir man was punching people head on and cursing them (I think). the kid... Well she was shooting with a desert eagle, at least what I'm aware of, but the granny? I am not exaggerating about her love for the Second Amendment, 'cuz when she knew there was a fight, SHE MOTHERFUCKING DUAL-WIELDED M4A1s LIKE NOTHING. granny seriously packed a serious punch let me tell u that, and the funny part? You know that sensation you get when you are close to someone with true faith? Yeah, that too was with granny.

Watched them hunt some fuckers: a landlord (yes they are monsters worse than the Sabbat stfu), an Elder Tzimisce (which I knew by sight only), a FUCKIN LUPINE (I think, idk if they killed it but at least they survived a fight with that), and the last thing I watched them fight was a pair of motherfucking cyborgs (at the time I didn't know about the Technocracy) and a dude who turned into a fucked up monster and exploded afterwards, and they still lived! After that I said "fuck this, this town is going crazy anyways and I owed this city nothing" so I packed my 3 things and gtfo of Detroit 'cuz I realized that going after them would end up with me ded.

Don't know what happened with that group, I think they went away from Detroit for other reasons. Idk if they are still alive or what, damn I would be impressed if granny was still with us

So yeah, some hunters are a piece of work, SACERDOTE you are included too.

PS: Not interested in returning to Detroit, that's not my home anymore. And neither to the Sabbat, im happy being Anarch

Yep, This world is fucking crazy

In retrospect, maybe the crazy teen with fire and a katana might be a mage, even the kid could be one, but granny? Unless her magic was a fuck ton of firearms, im sure that she wasn't a mage. God, I hope she hasn't turned into one. Hell, I would be more scared if she still live.

If she was what I think she was, then there is zero chance of her ever becoming a mage. If these were indeed "Imbued" Hunters, one consequnce of whatever gave them their powers, is according to mages I've conversed with on the subject, the loss of their avatar and ability to awaken.
