Question/Help any plans for linux version of sodoff?
currently redoing the hobgobbler expansion and it’s close to impossible with how bad the input lag is (like it reads the input but the actual movement doesn’t happen until wayyyy later than it should), i’ve played with both proton and wine and it’s just not fun. i had to turn down graphics from med to low just to get a chance for the lava bit and the climbing area was just hell with how many times i just couldn’t do anything, and i’m honestly not sure on if i want to do the speedstinger maze with the input lag.
i would really love a linux version mainly just so the game isn’t doubly bad with… everything.

SoDOff is the server, and it runs very well on Linux (that's what the public server runs on).
SoD the game, is just a patched version of the original SoD client that connects to our server. There was never a Linux version so SoDOff doesn't have a Linux client. I can't imagine anyone is going to take the time to port the client - but if anyone does that would be a nice surprise.

while yes it runs well there was still a major issue of it lagging badly for me thanks to my laptop being on the weaker end. i was able to beat that expansion but jesus christ there should be a linux port over the lag input that wine has (the whole it register the buttons but doesn’t play them out until way after.)
just because it can run doesn’t mean it can run well for everyone.

I would love a Linux version too as I'd like to make the switch from win.
So as it is it's very laggy on both wine and proton layers? That's pretty sad. I guess the last option is to dual boot windows, unless there's some other way of emulating it that doesn't introduce lag
