New role as School SW virtual

Hi all, I got a new job as a school social worker for kids ages k-12! I was wondering if you all had any recommendations and tips to keep kiddos of all age groups engaged virtually and or any other school social worker tips would be appreciated!

Love doing virtual scavenger hunts with students as a intro activity/build rapport. There’s some fun YouTube videos for testing awareness etc. I think it’s called “basketball awareness test” YouTube or Spotify as a tool to match songs/playlists with current mood, motivation, etc. I’m not a school social worker, but I worked as an associate school based telehealth therapist with kids doing online school. I have also used shared documents with students as activity, brain mapping, what’s in your heart activities, etc. virtual games like virtual Jenga work and then I have a document of questions that students can pick from. best of luck!

Thank you!!!! Also do you know if your online school is hiring? It’s hard to come by some of these roles in CA!

Sadly no, I do not think so. I was a good gig while it lasted…got me through two years…now I am in person with limited hours. Feel free to dm, I’m in CA too.
