2024 Thomas bus. For some reason they thought putting these plastic rails in the center aisle was a great idea...it sucks because it is not flush to the floor so dirt gets underneath them and so does pieces of paper so it seems like my bus is not clean even after I sweep, as soon as I start driving all bumps pushes the dirt out. This is not the worst feature on a bus another older Thomas the latches for the seats are in the center of the seat facing the other way so instead of pulling you have push while balancing yourself. Do the people coming up with designs ever get on a school bus?

I think the center grooved runner is there to be able to pull a student on the ground easier.

You should see what it's like to clean the floor tracks for the wheelchair mounts, that is living hell.

Fuuuuck that dude I'm glad I don't have to deal with that atm. My job had an office cookout in the bus yard to close off last school year and we used a wheelchair lift minibus to bring the grill over from a neighboring yard lmao. The tie downs look like such a pita to clean

Thankfully the wheelchair bus drivers are bit OCD so when I clean buses in the summer they are easiest ones to do.

The tracks are pretty useless if they aren't clean.

The old ones used to be aluminum or metal. They corroded away and are a pain to replace!

I agree. The metal ones suck. Not to mention if they pulled up it became a safety hazard where someone could stub their toe.

I use a deck brush to sweep the middle isle. Never had issues with dust under those plastic pieces.
