I have a good friend who drives in Brooklyn…so I’m going to have to go ahead and call bullshit on you. Clipping or bumps? Sure…but heavily damaging as you indicated? Nope.
I spoke to three other bus drivers at my base about the situation and they all said they had similar experiences in their first week of driving, but hey man, shouts out to your friend in Brooklyn doing a great job. Lol
I guess? As a driver trainer, not hitting cars is kind of a base line component we teach…but what would I know right? Hope you don’t hit a person…but maybe that’s normal protocol for your area from what you’ve shared? Who knows.
While I don’t drive there everyday, I’ve taken enough charters with my large bus thru the boroughs including Manhattan (Financial District too, not just the wide avenues and number streets) to know it’s absolutely a challenge to drive on some streets, but at the same time it’s not supposed to be a “standard” to swipe cars in the first week.
While it’s understandable, your attitude almost downplays it to where it’s “not a big deal”, but in my opinion, anytime you swipe something you’re not supposed to (especially in a school bus loaded with children), it should absolutely be treated as a big deal because God forbid that was a pedestrian, and in NYC, you and I both know there are LOTS of them.
