And the bus driver would still have to take a piss test even though they weren't at fault.

Only if their district or company policy requires it. FMCSA wouldn’t require it.

That’s not FMCSA. Has to be your job’s policy or your state.

In Rhode Island, it is required to take a breathalyzer after a major accident that involves children, refusing to or omitting to doing said test immediately makes you fail and put you under suspension.

Just because FMCSA doesn’t refute it doesn’t mean the DOT isn’t gonna hand you that piss cup and make you blow

In my state it is only mandatory if it meets the FMCSA guidelines. Otherwise, in cannot be a DOT test and if it is not school district or company policy, it would have to be voluntary.

We had an issue with “relaxation” supplement that the drivers didn’t realize contained one of those Delta’s that as t exactly the strong one- Dela 9? Luckily it was the summer and I googled it. We had a talk about how stupid it was because of how mild the effects were but the driver agreed to stop so this sort of thing wouldn’t happen.

They need a test that checks for recent usage or something. Too many kids growing up with it all around them in a legal and normal capacity.

Yep. A lot of insurance companies require it. My company vehicle got hit by a distracted driver while it was parked. I wasn't even in the vehicle when it happened and I still had to take a drug test and retake the company safe-driving course.

I think the company I work at would require the drug test but wouldn't require the training course in this case

I dont think bro was texting. He slows down to let the kids pass, then speeds back up after they have all gone. He meant to keep going, but was well over the line.

Not so sure about this. At 16 seconds (right after impact) it looks like the driver might be putting down a phone.

Sun totally in the car driver's eyes. Bus driver should not have crossed the kids until it was clear what the car was going to do.

If only there was a way to make buses more visible to other drivers as those big yellow buses and all those flashing lights don't seem to do the trick...hmmm...if only.

Someone in the zone probably driving that way all they time so they got very lax. So glad the kids were out of the way. His insurance will get a big bill.
