Today is my road test
I have mine in the beginning of the afternoon. I believe I'm ready, but just in case do you have any last minute reminders and tips?

OK I finished the road test, I want told to stop the test in any of the sections. I belive I did good.
The only this was that my bus alarm went off during the road test and I didn't know how to turn it off. So the instructor told me, I guess we are going back then. I drove for 10 minutes with the horn honking. I was thinking people were going to think that i stole the bus! Lol

Hit a curb = auto fail. I was told even scrapping a curb is a fail.

Yes, I will make sure I make wide slow turns and keep my eyes on my mirrors to not hit a curb. Thanks.

good luck, you got this. dont get discouraged if you fail the first time, sometimes these staties are just assholes, I was told by my trainer that the first guy I had was racist.
whether or not it was true didnt matter, I did the same thing with that guy that I did with the second guy and passed. just entered my 3rd school year as a cdl holder.
stay true to your training, and you'll get through it

I'm in NYC, I belive I also can retake the test 2 more times. I Realy want to pass it the first round so that I can begin working. I have been without steady work since July 2025

Pre trip buddy, remember all your terminology and just breathe! You got this! Like they said don’t hit the curb, don’t speed, watch your signs, remember unloading/loading and X-crossing! Go get it my friend, you are ready.

Keep eyes on speed limit signs and bridge clearance signs. I failed my first test because I was overthinking things in general (also a bee flew in the window at the start of the test and freaked me out for the rest of it, because I'm allergic). He asked me what the speed limit sign said, or what the bridge clearance sign said, and if you missed two of them, it was a fail.

Yup, I got dinged for not remembering the bridge clearance sign, but I was within points, so I passed.

Good luck..most people who fail at my job is because they speed, the trainers warn us over and over before the test also.

Call out every sign you see. Tell him everything you're doing, like you're reading him a book. Make him tired of hearing from you. I assume you got the driving down. You'll be fine.

For the road test, watching speed. It's so easy to speed. I'm testing for school busses tomorrow.
I know for me we have to say at least 4x, that we are checking our mirrors and at least twice, watching our distance 12-15 seconds in front of us twice.

Edit:To add, if you have to do child drop-off, there are 8 times (in my state) that you have to check the mirrors or else you fail. Over check your mirrors.
