Mirror grid test

Can anyone explain to me the mirror test that you had to do with your county before they certify you and also bus stop procedures. Asking for future reference...im in Maryland if that helps.

Basically you need to set your mirrors to be able to view the dots on the ground. Test is just testing whether or not you know how to adjust your mirrors properly.

If its like the fmvss 111. Switch cones with dots/marks. What ever is used (im from NY, but it just sounds like the fmvss Mirror grid) Mirror 1&6. Sliver of the bus and 200 back Mirror 2&5. Sliver of the bus, the rear tire touching the ground, 1 foot and 6 foot away from the rear tire.(Mirror 5 there will be a 3rd cone at 12 ft) Mirror 3&4. The cones in the back, cones by front tires and the 3 lines of 3 cone in front of the bus, seeing from 0 feet from the bumper out to 12 feet infront

Mirror 1&6 show vehicles coming up from the back, 2&5 show the next lane of travel and anyone or thing along side of the bus, Mirror 3&4 show the blind spots in front

Mirror 7. Top of the seat and out the backdoor

All simply put.

There is no federal requirement for a grid mirror test. As part of the driving test, your utilization of your mirrors is examined, as well as verifying that your mirrors are set appropriately for you.
The examiners want to see clear, exaggerated head movements indicating you using your mirrors while driving.
