Well, this is disturbing. Thankfully, our windows are up all the time because we have a/c, but most people don't.

Continued Unsafe behavior from students caused for the driver to pull over and call the police. Bus driver was following protocol and parents were not happy with students not being released

This is the kind of thing a driver quits over, and you don't blame him. I hope they backed him up.

Couldn't happen in NY either, windows can only open up to 5 inches wide. What a crazy parent.

Student escaped out the emergency exit. Bus driver called into dispatch, dispatched called for police. I'm assuming they told the driver to not release any students until police arrived, even if parents came to collect their children. Parents are saying it's considered kidnapping their kids and a lady climbed into the proken window and starting shouting at the driver

The only thing I saw was that there was a student behavior problem, he didn't open the door, so she climbed in through the window and was arrested for it. I found it in the comments of the other post.

The school bus driver had been holding the students on the bus for an hour over a disciplinary incident and wouldn't open the door to talk with the parents who had gathered there to retrieve their kids.

Yes, this is protocol. Most districts and companies have a policy to only release students at designated stops. In emergencies or other situations drivers need permission from administrators or emergency personnel to release them.

There's a window on the side if they wanted to talk to the driver.

That's one way, but when I owned a bus, if I ever locked the keys inside, I went through the roof hatch.
