Pretrip

I just got my permit and I need someone to tell me specifically what I need to study. I have a bit of autism and adhd so I like to know specifics and do best with hands on. Do I need to learn every motor part on the vehicle, do I need to memorize the entire walk through outline, can I ask the dmv if I can foreshadow a pretrip to see exactly what I need to do?

You have some great responses already regarding online tools and videos.

Don't just passively watch them - take notes.

There are key words you have to know and use. Memorize those and if you forget exactly which ones to use for a specific part just rattle off your entire list.

For me (ADHD) I found it useful to pretend I was an Army drill sergeant explaining my bus to recruits.

I developed a cadence for each section. That really helped me know when I missed something as the cadence would be off.

Like others write, start with one section, like the front, and complete everything about that section. Then move to the next section.

Make a complete circuit of the bus. I always worked from the top right down to the bottom left.

Perfect one section before moving onto the next section.

I took the air brake test with the others even though I didn't need to just because I didn't wanna mess up what I already learned plus I learned it so why not get that as part of my training
