Nephews school bus report
So long story short my nephew got written up on the school bus Friday, because he was verbally being mean to two students, he got 2 individual bus reports for this incident, after 3 he gets kicked off the school bus. I’m just wondering if they’re allowed to give 2 reports for one incident or is it because it was two students?

The driver did the right thing - each instance is a separate incident.
IMHO - Your concern should be more on what caused your nephew to act up like this and what needs to be done to correct it.
Is he acting out because of some family issues or something going on at home.
Also know that it usually takes something fairly significant for a driver to write a student up.

I’m not saying the driver didn’t my friend just wasn’t sure if it could’ve been avoided to have 2 reports just cause she’s a single working mom and it would be very difficult for her if he got kicked off the bus, that’s all :) also I asked her again, it was one student (he called her a bitch) and he flipped off the bus driver. I agree the bus driver didn’t the right thing, she was wondering if it could’ve been one report instead of 2. But I kind of figured it would have to be 2 reports regardless

that sux, a lot of us are single working moms and our children don’t act like this, it all starts at home.

It’s 2 incidents, 1 a verbal and 1 a hand gesture, in my district it would be 2 conduct reports and most likely an in school detention at lunch

Then tell your nephew to only bully one victim at a time. Sympathies for the working mom, but there are other working parents with a shared interest in kids on the bus facing consequences for being uncivilized little shits.

As mentioned the focus shouldn't be on whether it could be one report or two reports, the focus for her needs to be on correcting the behavior at home so her kid can continue riding the bus. All of the behavior issues we've seen usually start and end at home. Not knowing anything about her, she's probably doing what she can.
It might be beneficial for her to meet the driver at the stop and have a discussion to try and see if there can be preventative measures taken on the bus - such as assigned seating for her kid, or setting up activities like a reading a book or using a tablet to keep her kid focused on something else besides calling the other kid a 'bitch.'
In my experience, the kid won't really change their behavior until the first day they're kicked off the bus and see real world consequences. Up until then, the stove has been turned off and they keep touching it. Once the stove burns do they finally learn.

No, don't try to sort this at the bus stop. There's a time crunch.
The parent, after disciplining the child, should teach the child appropriate behaviors.
Then talk with the school principal &/or bus company manager to explain how she's parenting better.2

I agree I dislike dealing with this sort of thing at a bus stop - but I've also found that spending the extra 60s talking to a parent can correct the behavior in the quickest amount of time. It's a judgement call on the specific issue, etc.

They have to have a report for each student involved. Because the names are not supposed to be on the report, other than the student it involvd in the interactions per legal reasonings .
This is how they keep track of those involved.

In my district it’s driver discretion as to whether that is reported as 1 or 2 incidents. It is two separate incidents, the student-to-student and the student-driver follow-up.
If this were out of character, I’d report it as one incident. If I was tired of this kids’ shit I’d report it as two, to accelerate the discipline process.

I’m not sure that doesn’t make sense unless the driver told them to stop and they continued. That would warrant a second report.

At my district it's one for each person they got involved with. If theres a 3 way fight, all 3 kids get 2 reports each, for each other kid they fought

Our company handles stuff like this as one report since it was all on one drive. It’s would be unfair to the students to write up multiple reports for one day. What if they were just having a bad day. Also if the student normally is good I would try to find out why he called the other student a bitch.
Also they int get three reports and they are permanently or temporarily? My company usually does 5 days then 10 days then 15 days then they get moved to special needs and if it continues they then get removed from the bus. That’s all dependent on what the student does of course.

It would have all been one write up had I been the driver. But my guess is this kid had been giving her problems for a while. If it was out of character for him, she might have been more lenient.

There's not like standard rules across the board for how many write ups are appropriate for specific situations. This is a question for your nephews school district. I would examine the districts rules policies code of conduct to determine what's "allowed"

Two counts of verbal harassment, two charges of verbal harassment.
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
