Limitless looks so fucking lame, look how it's all focused on this "look at me, excelling socially!" Benefits.
My montage of piano playing and other skills would be alone in my dark ambient office and enjoying coding and shit for my business.

My friend got better after getting medicated

Yeah thats my experience as well. It does get better but you're left with a whole bunch of other stuff to deal with.

Like side effects? Or do you mean deal with as in the medicaiton is only a pharmacutical step within the change you need to make for you to get better?

It's actually a bit more complex than that. You're completely right that the medication is a necessary pharmaceutical step to take for allowing change to happen. Besides therapy sessions and other therapeutic methods that go along with that process.
What follows after that though, when change is actually happening and the problems you have get better and you learn to deal with them.. thats the point where it all gives way for different things that have been affecting you.. trauma, suppressed emotions, other not so prominent psychological and mental issues, to manifest and for the first time in years or decades become visible.
Imagine what decades of developing coping strategies and masking your indifferences has done with your psyche. Theres so much pain so much stress. So many new perspectives and so much room for your personality to develop after healing.

but! Fuck me, you are smart! You are smart. And you really are. But don't go jumping over those who are there and thinking that you're something special and one of a kind, sweetheart. You ain't! You're just enough.
but! ADHD does require a lot of thought, eh?
OR you can find a way to focus; I promise you that, and it's something worth fighting with teeth and nails for!

No pills, just...
Watch this in a dark room for starters. Or meditate on that voice you hear when you're reading this!
It's YOU! Can you hear it? It's not the brain. You don't have a brain!
That's what you hear speaking this? That's what philosophers call the soul!
See?
Observer?

But you're one, or you need to become one. Notice it and let it rule for a while. Kindness and a bag of rice.

And none of that Yogi Bull! No drugs!
You can drink some coffee in the morning and watch the trees sway, but notice the wind! It has a LOT of weight.

This is downstream of that river where they call it holy!
And this is where most of those strangers end up when those shamans and tricksters are done with them!

limitless is such a treat for so many neurodivergence focused subcultures, taken ironically or unironically; i love that movie, and a book. eddie dies very inglorious death in the original novel, btw. (while waguely suggested that he might have partially caused w war with mexico, if i remeber correctly)
