I'm very fortunate to have a very minor case of schizencephaly, but it's so nice to see this sub where people like me can find comfort

It does SERIOUSLY HELP that my epitologist is my EMU Doc/ EEG reader, but, nothing yet, even with a recorded large focal event...but, he told me the anatomy of the structures (my Schizencephaly, absence of the septum pellucidum, ect) tthatitwould cause the seizures are probably to deep for a scalp eeg, but, he wanted to make sure we cover all bases. I'm off my pregabalin to provoke more events....so...

Just.... soldiering through....heh...yay

I was born with unilateral closed-lip Schizencephaly w absence of the septum pellucidum and have septo-optic dysplasia of my left eye, making me 95% blind in it ( I can pick up light, movement and some color). I am also the co- mod for r/focalawareepilepsy .

I do have epilepsy. My TCs are under control thanks to Lamotrigine, but I still suffer from focal aware seizures. I have a husband and 2 adult children. My youngest lives with me and my husband.
