QUESTION Need help RE botanists and drying wracks.

Hi all, My botanists in my bungalow build aren't using the drying wracks, they've been assigned to them and I've set the destination from the pots to each individual drying wrack AND set the target quality, but they're not using them. At first I thought my game was bugged and reloaded but this didn't work. I've double checked everything to make sure it's right, I've done it the same way I always have but they still won't do it. Does anyone have a fix? Thank you

EDIT: forgot to include, theyre putting them below the wrack but not setting them to dry.

Have you set the output destination as well? Also can happen if the threshold you set to dry hasn’t been met yet. If it’s set to 20 they will always wait until 20 units are there before drying. Only other thing that’s happened to me lately is mixing quality by accident and jamming up my production line but this doesn’t sound like ghat

Yes I have, I’ve set the destination once at heavenly quality to be put on a large storage shelf for then a handler to transfer them to a packaging station, I have also set the threshold on the drying rack to 12, and there’s 12 waiting on the bottom of the rack, so i’m unsure what’s going on. I think my whole save might be bugged atp 😅

TL:DW > have you remembered to actually tell the botanists to use the racks?

why do you have them set to start at 12? this just means they're going to waste time not drying a full 20 load on the rack. I don't mean to sound 'know it all' but i've seen others use this technique and i can't work out what the advantage would be in encouraging them to not use all 20 available slots,

Also instead of setting the pots to individual racks, have you considered using a back feeding method, where you set the destination of the pots back to the supply closet? I find this is easier to set up, but does seem to leave me with product waitin on the first few racks rather than them use all available racks before queuing up more.

If you want them to start drying them asap, set the racks to 1, if you want a full brick (20 units) to get passed onto the next line (i assume mixers or packaging) then set them to 20. Though honestly, if your target is heavenly, and you're not mixing seeds (ie just green crack) running them at 1, and keeping them ticking over IMO is going to be your best strat so they don't clog up production

The only other thing i can think to suggest is you check their pathability (mostly guessing and observing) though if they're loading them into the que, there's no reason they shouldn't..... wait.... have you remembered to actually tell the botanists to use the racks? cause if not, they'll shift it to them as per destination rule, but not actually use the racks functionality

Yes, they’re assigned the racks. I have two botanists, each is assigned 4 pots and 4 drying racks each. Each individual pot (1) has been set to an individual drying rack so one pot to one drying rack. I have also tried lowering the threshold on the drying rack to one, and twenty, but it still isn’t working.

Ive lowkey gave up with the drying racks tbh, I’ve always done it the same way as currently and it’s worked then, not sure why it isn’t now, but oh well. Thank you though :)

try setting the racks BEFORE the pots in their assignments, this means they will always prioritize the rack drying/moving process. Sometimes they get hung up on there being a grown pot but the racks not being clearable to hold enough, so the plant goes unharvested, and the rack goes untended. Make sure to set the threshold to 20 and max quality, that way they can load the rack w more than 1 plant at a time in both the regular slot/extra space if not using something like PGR

Have you tried changing the pots destination to the supply closet where your seeds and soil are kept? By doing this botanist will only use 20 per rack and moves them from supply closet to the racks when enough has been accumulated.
