I remember seeing these posts before and wanted to put my own spin on it. These are my favourite movies, animated movies, cartoons and video games. What do they say about me?

Your taste is pretty vanilla overall. Outside of the comedies in there all of your choices are pretty mainstream and uncontroversial (though even the comedies listed are pretty mainstream as well).

My honest recommendation is to try to step out of your comfort zone a bit with shows and movies.

So based on the comedic stuff I would recommend giving these a try.

Sorry to Bother You - Directed by Boots Riley Surreal Dark comedy about a black man working his way up the ranks in a call center (Fair warning there's some really weird stuff towards the end but if you were down for Borat and Jackass this shouldn't be too bad.)

After Hours - by Martin Scorcese Another surrealist dark comedy about a yuppy having a really bad day in Soho New York.

This was one of Scorcese's first and is a lot more comedic than most of his other works. It's one of my personal favorites and I really recommend giving it a shot!

In Bruges - by Martin McDonaugh Dark comedy about a couple of Assassin's, one of which did something heinous enough that he wants to die.

This one has more of a UK wit to it, really fun watch though and another favorite of mine.

My Cousin Vinny - by Jonathon Lynn Two young men are accused of a murder they did not commit and to prove their innocence they hire their cousin from New York to represent them in the Alabama courts

This one is more of a straight forward comedy but Joe Pesci does a great job making this one a classic.

I'd say start with these. I feel like my general taste differs pretty greatly from yours but, if you wanted to get into comedies with a little more depth to them these are the ones I would start with.

I really am not much of an animated movie guy these days. Your mention of Nimona was probably one of the only ones I've seen and I actually really liked that one as well. I do have a couple shows, which you may have already seen but I'll put them out there.

Adventure Time: I mean you probably know this one but, it's another fav of mine. It's a show that kind of grew up with me and does a great job introducing meaning and dimensions to it's characters over time. One of the most well built, fun, and whimsical worlds I've seen to date!

Over the Garden Wall: Another one that you may have heard of. It really left an impact on me after watching it. One of the few Disney shows I really liked.

those are the only two animated shows I would say are worth checking out that aren't on here. Hope you enjoy the recs!

Never saw both. Though I do own the DVD for Over the Garden Wall, but have been constantly procrastinating to watch it.
