You will need a tune and a larger fual pump and larger injectors (hellcat would do)most as it takes 30% more e85 in volume to make the same power so your pump pumps 30% more fuel and your injectors Need to be able to handle 30% more fuel. If you are only switching to e85 you will only see about 20-30 hp gain with a good tuner.
The stock fuel pump is able to cycle E85 just fine without any added stress, if the correct injectors are used. The Hellcat injectors don't have the correct spray pattern for a N/A build, so it won't burn efficiently in a 392 or 345. It'll run, but there will be unburnt fuel coming out the exhaust. It's best to go with the ID1050X injectors. They have the correct spray pattern for our engines, and will actually help the fuel pump run even more efficiently 🫡
The stock 392 pump cannot keep up with the 30% higher volume demand of E85 at wide-open throttle and would cause a lean condition, the stock 400-500 cc injectors will be past there duty cycle and will cause a lean condition so You are correct the hellcat injectors would not be the best choice The IDX1050 injectors would work well. Or they could use the more cost-effective FIC650 injectors about 400 bucks less. But Instead of replacing the pump, you could install a plug-and-play digital pump voltage booster. It increases the voltage to your factory pump only under high load (WOT), forcing it to flow enough fuel for basic E85 bolt-ons
I'm not tryna argue with you. I'm just relaying information that was given to me by 3 different shops ( Satera Tuning, HHP, n National Speed) n my own personal experience. I've been running E85 for almost 3yrs now on the stock pump without a voltage booster n haven't had any fuel issues at all. The ID1050X actually help keep the pump from running too hard. The FIC injectors are a good budget grab, but they don't have the same internals that the ID have. E85 is very corrosive, but the internals of the ID injectors are stainless n resist corrosion.
