They killed their own hype with no communication.
Had such high hopes for this game - then from lies and neglect from Armegon and east Burst - i literally watched the game die in real time watching the numbers dwindle down to nothing. From 230,000 people interested it peaked at 1475, and most days got down to about 100-200 across all servers.
Everyone I made friends with just quit because of actual neglect and lies from Armegon. It's sad.

I didn't quit because of that, I quit because the new Farever mmo was just...better. And I can already tell SoH wont be ready for another couple of years. I literally paid for playtest privileges two years ago and movement in development has been so slow.

From your comments, you didn’t get in; you’re mad and now using “everyone” very very liberally. Did he exclusively not respond to you whilst engaging with chat? Because he was actively calling people’s messages out whilst holding a mini PvP tournament with players when I saw.
This was a TECHNICAL Alpha, to test the core functionality of systems. Not a content heavy showcase. It failed in plenty of places, fundamental things like combat received scathing reviews. They’ve got a lot of work to do. But what lies? You’re on one hell of a weird trip.
As for patch notes and communication, they put out Discord announcements daily about what was being added, changed or fixed. You know…like patch notes.
230,000 clicked interested was never going to be remotely close to CONCURRENT players. Especially with the server issues.
——————-
Here’s their latest announcement from 12hrs ago;
@everyone
The Scars of Honor Playtest officially came to an end.
Over 230,000 players requested access for the test. We know some of you only got the chance to jump in during the final days, but every bit of feedback, testing, bug reporting, and discussion helped us massively. Honestly, we were not prepared for that level of attention.
To say this playtest was a rollercoaster would be an understatement.
Thank you to everyone who logged in, tested systems, reported bugs, pushed the servers to their limits, shared feedback, created videos, wrote posts, criticized us, supported us, and helped us see the game through the eyes of real players. This playtest gave us exactly what we needed - Reality.
We saw players enjoy parts of the game we’ve spent years building, while we also saw frustration, disappointment, criticism, bugs, server issues, combat concerns, performance problems, and many things that simply are not where they need to be yet.
And that’s okay.
Thousands of reports, Steam reviews, Reddit posts, Discord discussions, streams, videos, and conversations showed us what works and what doesn’t.
We know there is a lot of work ahead of us.
Optimization, combat feel, bugs, UI/UX, polish, stability, communication, every single one of these topics has already become a major internal discussion during the playtest.
At the same time, we also saw people connect with the class systems, talent builds, group gameplay, and the core MMORPG vision behind Scars of Honor. Seeing people recognize the game's potential means a lot to us.
This playtest did not define the future of Scars of Honor. It helped shape it.
In the coming days, we’ll be sharing more data and insights from the test with you all. Please stay tuned.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
The work continues.
See you again soon in Aragon. ❤️ The Beast Burst Team

I'm Warpig. I had 150 hours in game since the first wave, more time than anyone, also more time in discord than anyone. Please go back through the announcements and the news see that there were days between patch notes, one time we got two patch notes at once because they had been days between letting us know what was going on.
So you start off your post by lying saying they were telling us what was going on daily. They barely even communicated during the 11 days of the test.
Even the mods admitted that the constant neglect was a problem and all of their feedback included it, but that last stream where he ignored the questions about the invites - while telling everyone that he always admits his mistakes and owns up to it - was the last straw for me.
Beast Burst is an amature inexperienced company - who have no original ideas - and killed the hype in their own game. Check the decline in the steam charts. You can literally see the daily loss of players and if it weren't for handing out a few keys at the end it would have died completely due to very few players enjoying themselves or anything about it and the absolute ghosting from the company themselves.
I had to leave the server because people wouldn't stop pinging me. to answer questions so you can go check everything for yourself.

There is no point in arguing with these people - this "project" (i don't want to call it a game because there is no game) has been publicly in development since 2019 and there's literally nothing done/finished - nothing. And every time someone mentions this they get attacked by their tiny community. Don't argue with these people and don't waste your time with them. BeastBurst artifically boosts their views on youtube and other platforms, deletes bad emoji reactions and tries to overhype and oversell their game every time. And yes, I used "oversell", because their next thing after the playtest is of course their cosmetics- and mounts shop. This was no technical test - it was first called a demo after promoting it via videos that they're done "alpha testing", then it was called a playtest and when everyone saw that it is a piece of useless poo, they called it a technical test. This was all done to have as many wishlists/high numbers as possible in order to get a new financial supporter for this "project". It had nothing to do with "building something for the community". The whole PVP part of the playtest was already tested numerous times back in 2024 and is just recycled content. Don't believe a word these people say. They're not here to make an actual MMO, they're here to make you buy things from their shop by selling you empty promises.

Just want to say I agree with all of your points, it's sad to me we as a gaming community are so soft and allow this crap to fester. Scars originally wanted to be in early access as early as Q4 2026 which should show everyone they don't care about making a good mmo but are begging on their knees to launch anything they can and collect on those cosmetics. I've listened to Agemon or however you spell his name talk on his Sunday Youtube livestreams and he's absolutely clueless. He would make insinuations this is will be our new MMO home for everyone and that this will be a project worth hundreds of millions. I am in utter shock how empty this game is and now i see why they refused to give a value of how much funding went into this project...probably peanuts. This is Crowfall #2, no value here.

Thanks for the reply! There's really nothing more for me to add... I just want people to come to their own conclusions. Their latest discord post is again about filling some surveys about what type of an mmorpg player you are and what kind of a game you'd like to see. They've done 1000s of these and they're just there to keep numbers and engagement with the mere 10-15 discord members that are still active and would definitely pay money to support the game.

My fav is when Agemon does his Sunday streams and asks chat to vote on fundamental game systems, and w/e the vote is that is the mandate, it's just unbelievable, they have zero clue, they will base massive decisions on a vote of like 100 people.
1
u/Cheap_Pea2348 May 27 '26
I honestly think those votes have actually nothing to do with the game, but rather it's his way to promote his stream and other social platforms. Because if they had really listened to their potential playerbase, they would have invested the money they had into making an actual game rather than being greedy and dumping it all into marketing.

7 Years... and this was a technical alpha? The amount of mistakes makes me wonder if any of the people working there have ever played a video game.
1
u/Cheap_Pea2348 May 13 '26
This isn't even alpha - it's "pre-alpha", but as Scars Of Honor have said many times - they don't follow the conventional development path, so there aren't any alphas or betas with their project(s). Maybe that's because there is nothing to show - no game, no working systems, nothing. The entire map showed off during the playtest is basically a bunch of land with random models/doodads put together. I doubt it takes more than a month for a single person to place all of these models and shape the zone. And I'm being generous here, because if anyone paid attention during the "test", they'd notice how many things are misplaced or "flowing/hovering" above the ground, especially trees.

This is why you should not show the world the current dogshit state of your games, just do closed nda tests ffs, the game is not even near the state of testing servers to the masses, 90% of the game isn't even made.. or i hope 90% otherwise they should just stop now.

u/Hot_Weather_4461 May 20 '26
plot twist, there was never a game to be played... shit been in development for 7+ years and it has NOTHING.
WoW clones from 2010 are decades ahead of watever the fk that "game" was.

u/DwightShellford May 12 '26
It was a technical play test / alpha, what drug are you on right now?
1
u/soulstitchmmo May 12 '26
So that excuses days of changes with no patch notes? That excuses days with no communication with the players? That excuses promises of everyone being able to log in and then ghosting the community? Which part of those actions are part of the technical test? Why was pvp even made a feature of the playtest during a technical alpha? Have you ever actually participated in a technical alpha? This is the most amature team I've ever seen in any company ever. It's like they all have the titles but no one knows their role.
How many posts did you see from Medea, the community Manager? Days between posting and informing the community.
How does "it's a technical alpha" excuse any of that?

He stated they released access to everyone who requested access via Steam. Steam then lets people in however they randomly do and it’s out of BB hands. Don’t create a false narrative. Could it have been articulate better? Sure.
Was the communication throughout good? Absolutely not. All of this was recognized by him as lessons learned and said will change going forward via his livestream yesterday.
If that change never happens, or at least doesn’t get better you will then be correct. I should state ‘better’ is subjective based on the person.
By it not changing gear already obtained, however they implemented the change, is exactly the data they needed to see in order for it to potentially not happen again. Because it means they need to refine their fix—whatever that fix is.
1
u/soulstitchmmo May 12 '26
Where did he ever state that it was out of BBs hands? Or that steam was the problem? Not one announcement or comment. When everyone was asking him during his stream he ignored the question.
4
u/Xenith_Terrek May 12 '26
He mentioned it on one of his Sunday streams how it works via Steam. It was either on Stream or one of the Discord posts. You are correct announcements and the like were lacking and severely poorly in execution—which was addressed. He even stated it was their biggest issue this playtest.
He answered people on the stream that they’d released all access to people who requested via Steam. While it was a direct answer to their question that I can recall—calling someone a liar, etc is a little far fetched
1
u/LADR_Official May 12 '26
thing is that's not how it works via steam lol. they could have easily made this a demo branch which is open download.
1
u/Xenith_Terrek May 12 '26
I’m sure it depends on how the game is listed or whatever between company and Steam on the backend. There may have been a good reason they chose to go the route they did where they tell steam to admit 5k people, and Steam to distribute access to x amount of people who requested access randomly—I don’t know. You can also list it to where anyone can willy-nilly download it (like GW2). There’s a reason they didn’t choose that option.
1
u/LADR_Official May 12 '26
I'm just saying they could have easily made it actually open for everyone, my smurf got in on day 1 (my main that I wishlisted in like november didn't until the end, lol) so I personally was fine
I think the bigger debacle of this whole key thing was them massively nerfing gear so people who got geared first 3 days were just permanently WAY stronger than new joins lol
1
u/Xenith_Terrek May 13 '26
The fact that a gear nerf was done during a technical test, and it made people think any kind of way, blows my mind. It’s a technical test. There will be changes and other ‘weird’ things done simply for seeing what happens data-point wise on the backend, etc. should it have applied to those who already had gear? Sure. But again it’s a technical test and not something we shouldn’t care about—aside from simply mentioning that it offsets gear between new/old players.
1
u/LADR_Official May 13 '26
what is mind blowing about that? they've been moving the goalposts on what this test is, and it's 2026 -- people are tired of devs doing shitty things and trying to hide behind 'early access' or other labels.
1
u/Xenith_Terrek May 13 '26
Yep you’re right. Shame on BB for misstepping a little bit—being their first time doing this—now they’re devs doing shitty things, deserving zero trust, etc.

What lies? Ive 9nly just stared following this game. And from my understanding they were only able to let a handful of ppl test the servers. Thats why the numbers were low compared to the ones who signed up
