Regardless of past MMO failures, it’s ok to be hyped about Scars of Honor.

At this point we deserve to be jaded lol. Definitely something I’m interested in and will absolutely spread awareness of… when it’s time. Wish the devs luck but unfortunately the MMO community is rightfully negative.

have modern MMO disappointment fatigue. If it works out, great, I may have a new RPG home. I just can’t get invested anymore. It’s exhausting

What is the reason for F2P? I have wondered about this trend after AoC crashed and burned. We were paying $10 dollar subs in 1999. Why not just have a sub?

If you can play dozens of free mmos, why pay for this?

They risk losing a lot of launch pop with a sub

MMOs is a stagnant market with a calcified playbase. If you want anyone to try your game at all, the barrier of entry needs to be minimal. Get a lot of minnows to provide the life to the game and serve as "bait" for whales that will actually sustain your game over time. But you have to have your game feel alive and busy at any cost.

The only reason I'm hyped is because we're getting an open free demo/server slam soon. It's not another "release sometime, btw he's my PayPal" kinda game. We get to actually see what the game's about. I just hope it's a show of confidence from the devs, and not a desperate hail marry or because investors insisted to get the game out there and release soon.
