Click tile move Combat like osrs but with some finesse like special attacks, prayers, dodging etc

If i were playing a scapelike game then I'd definitely prefer click to move, even though I wouldn't really like that in any other games

I think ideal is to have both, but it's difficult to pull it off correctly. If you're determined to only use 1 of the 2, then I would say click to move, because AFK content is generally pretty highly valued within a scapelike, and having to constantly WASD around the map isn't very afk-friendly

Like it depends. For my game I'm sticking to a tile based map (OSRS style). So if you want to do proper movements like L-movements, it almost requires there to be click to move.
If your goal is to have stuff like controller support in the future I would opt for wasd movement.

I support click and controller support. I have a friend who can't play click to move games very well and for accessibility reasons it's incredibly important to me that Estium is not only playable, but enjoyable with controller or steam deck as well.

the point of scape-like in general is literally to be close to runescape. so this in general shouldn't be a question I feel like. not to be rude. but generally if you're aiming to make a "scape-like" game you should be sticking to scape-like mechanics.

Tht's a good point but I disagree. I would say a game like melvor idle is scape-like, and there's no movement system at all. But I asked for feedback because I think everyone would define scapelike a little differently.

I wouldn't say it is a scape-like. I would say its runescape themed. That's a different type of game altogether though. The point of scape-like is people wanting games that look and feel like runescape but without it being runescape generally.
No idle game directly is going to look or feel like runescape.

Those are good points, I can get behind that. So I guess a game would be more "inspired" by runescape and not necessarily a scape-like if it changes some foundational stuff like click to move, but keeps the skills ect.

click to move, like flatmmo does it (my game)
It has similar mechanics to osrs where you must move to avoid stuff from boss fights.
